New Britain was 2-4 and Beloit was 1-5, with their only win a 16 inning 2-0 victory over West Michigan on Wednesday night. In that game, Brian Duensing was the starting pitcher throwing 9.0 shutout innings, allowing 5 hits and 0 earned runs with 6K/0BB.
With Terry Ryan and Jim Rantz in attendence, Jason Bartlett and Jason Kubel each had excelent weeks at Rochester. Although Bartlett was rested for two consecutive games following his 4 for 4 game on Monday, he was 9 for 22 with 3 doubles, a triple and 4 runs scored for the week. Kubel was 9 for 27 with 3 doubles, a home run, 3 runs scored and 7 rbi.
