What were these guys competing in?

Well, apparently, they were competing in the contest of who could take the most at-bats without an unintentional walk.

By my rather unofficial count, here are the results of that contest...

Francoeur - 136 ABs
White     - 139 ABs

So basically, White was just waiting until Francoeur slipped up and took a walk.  Now that that little contest is over, White can get back to doing his thing.

And if you think White has been hacktastic, Francoeur has seen even fewer pitches per plate appearance than White -- 3.13 to 3.27 -- which makes for some awfully short at-bats.
