Takes down Castillo.  King Felix draws first blood.

And...
...then Kubel.  Two points.

Woot Woot...
Double by Hunter, Mauer on third...

Let's Go Cu-ddy...Let's Go Cu-ddy...

Now THIS figures...
...good way to kill a rally, Morneau.  Beautiful grounder to first.

Bloomquist....
DOWN SWINGING!  Nice....

Castillo
is seriously struggling at the plate.

by Jesse on Jun 6, 2006 10:41 PM EDT reply actions

One more time...
...consecutive innings with a man on third, no runs scored...

Disappointments
You think Rondell White is a disappointment, how about the committment of time and money put into Sexon and Beltre.

by Jesse on Jun 6, 2006 10:58 PM EDT reply actions

Technically...
Batista is having a better season than White.  Actually, he's having a MUCH better season than White, even though that's still quite relative.  So, if I'm going to pick nits, why is Rondell batting ahead of Batista?

Mauer
is SO FRIGGIN GOOD right now.  Unbelieveable...

by Jesse on Jun 6, 2006 11:23 PM EDT reply actions

Hunter...
...still looks like he's trying to hard in pressure situations.  He's been solid lately, he's been a bit more selective at the plate, but that was a tough out to take.

OKAY....
One of these things is not like the other...

Which one did you NOT see coming:

Rondell White striking out looking
Justin Morneau running
Justin Morneau being caught running

HMMM.

So...
I post earlier tonight about how Johima has NOT been hot, for quite some time, and then he comes in and knocks around Liriano.  Kenji Johima, the next Frank Thomas.

Tony B.
Let's vote Batista for All Star, that was a swift and nimble play he made right there.

by Jesse on Jun 6, 2006 11:45 PM EDT reply actions

Not that it's never been mentioned before,
but the bottom third of our lineup is such a massive black hole between anyone who could hit there.  Rondell White, Tony Batista, Juan Castro, Lew Ford, Luis Rodriguez, Terry Tiffee.  At least Nick Punto reaches base.

It's not even that EVERY position needs to hit at even a league-average level, but three spots in a row that are quite a bit LESS than average really hurts.

Okay
4-1, I have class in the morning.  Good night and good luck.

Liriano
Well, he didn't get so many K's tonight and it cost him in extra hits.  He also let them hit the ball in the air a bit more.

In the end, he didn't have his A game, but hell, he still had a quality start.  Too bad it wasn't enough to give the Twins a win.

In otehr news, Jason kubel has offcially joined Joe Mauer on the list of Twins who are running ridiculously hot right now.

Speaking of The chairman, if he doesn't tnk in teh next couple weeks leaving him the all star team would be a HUGE travesty of justice.

ozzie
you know ozzie will take AJ or mauer.

A
take aj over mauer

by MUTT on Jun 7, 2006 12:53 AM EDT up reply actions

Ozzie
Ozzie will probobly tak eAj, but Mauer deserves to go no matter what.  Even if Jason Varitek sneaks his sorry big-market ass on the team Maur should be taken.  Mauer is leading the Al in BA, boasting a .423 OBP and a .521 SlG (netting him actually a league average ISOP, so that power is still coming along).  Those criteria would warrent a corner outfielder some years, much less a catcher.
