Rondell is now 8 for 10 against Seo.  Way to go Rondell.

hunter / tyner / rondell
What is with Gardy DH'ing tyner?  seems to me that with hnter's ailing foot, why not play tyner in CF adn DH hunter?  Its these little line-up decisions that confirm that gardy is just plain dumb.

I agree
I agree.  total headscratcher.   Hunter is a bit better than before, but he is still diminished in center, and I don't think he would complain about getting a day off on the hard Tropicana astroturf.

But all is well.  The Twins win and the Bitches and (lions) Tigers (& Bears) go down for the second day in a row and we are able to pad our little lead.

A happy day in Twinkietown.

Also, now that we are only 4 games behind the Tigers, our next series has some interesting possibilities.  I haven't really concerned myself with the Tigers to this point, figuring we should focus on the card, and if the division falls to us, more the better.  But if we were to make a run, this weekend would be a golden opportunity.  If we wer to somehow manage a sweep, we could take this thing over in one fell swoop.  That would really ease our mind; reducing the Tigers to a dogfight with the Sox and happily holding our own playoff spot.

Man, that's BS.
Total BS call on the umps' parts. Double for Cuddyer that was easily out, and a fan totally interfered. Shoulda been a HR.

Then they toss Gardy for arguing.

And then they eject the fan. So if he was interfering, shouldn't it be a homer?

Durr.

Stadium request
Call your legislators and tell them when they build the new stadium there should be no doubt when a home run is hit.  A ball that is a homer should never come back onto the field, unless a Cub fan throws it back.  No yellow lines, they are for indoor kickball.

Kid ejected
And it wasn't the kid, but the guy behind him who reached out and deflected the ball.

I like yellow lines. Let's paint one on the Metrodome right field wall, about 10 feet up.

Gardy thrown out
What is his point getting thrown out on that call?  The ump's discussed it, made the wrong call agian, but really what else could be done anyway?  Probably just got our pitcher tomorrow squeezed as a result.  If he would have thrown a temper tantrum, the ups may have given us a call back tomorrow.

Why not black lines
I never understood why they chose yellow for lines or foul poles, for that matter. Yellow and creme do not provide enough contrast. But if the poles/lines were black, you could see a ball flying past them on one side or the other.

Hmm
It is more so the line stands out with the environment it is in (cement, blue padding, dark clothing) than for it to contrast with the ball.

And yeah, it was stupid for them to kick the kid out.  He was just catching a ball out of play!

Especially since...
The kid didn't even touch the ball. The kid they kicked out was wearing a tan-colored glove. The guy who droped the homer onto the field wore a black glove and actually reached over the kid's shoulder from the second row. He stayed in the game.
