According to Kelsie Smith's Spring Training Blog, Alejandro Machado will begin the season on the disabled list.

This means that the Twins will most likely be forced to send him back to Washington once he comes off the DL.  The only way the Twins could keep him would be to put him on the Major League Roster when he is ready to play again.  That is unlikely because the Twins wouldn't have seen him play a single game at that point.  The Twins could also offer a trade to the Nationals for him I guess, but again, that would have to happen without seeing him perform for you.
