Lead-off
As long as Castillo and Punto combine to hit .400, our offense will cruise. Who needs Cy-tana anyway.

Morneau...
is getting plunked tonight.

by BPinOK on Apr 3, 2007 4:42 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Well,
..if he's getting plunked, they better plunk Torii as well.  They both kicked the shit out of Bedard last night.

He is...
getting plunked for the elbow thrown to Bako's chin.  I don't think it was intentional but I think he is getting plunked just the same.

BTW...I'm over from Camden Chat.  Just seeing what you guys were talking about.

If Hernandez were healthy I would be rooting for Morneau to take Bako's head off b/c he can't catch shit.

It wasn't intentional...
but plunk him, fine.  Morneau is strong like bull.  Hit many homers off you guys this series.

:)

Fair enough
It's how the game is played; I have no qualms with that as long as there aren't any head shots.

Honestly...
I'm not sure Cabrera knows where the ball is going the majority of the time.  Really, I'm not sure if Cabrera will plunk Morneau.  He has enough problems in the past with control.  If not tonight I'm guessing it will happen tomorrow.

Morneau is a hockey player.
He likes to check guys.  He was actually signed as a catcher originally, but he changed to first base to make way for someone called Mauer.

That being said, I don't think he meant to hurt Bako.  He should never have been sent home in the first place.  Should've just bluffed to get the throw home and allow the runner to move up to second (great move, Ulger).

The Twins have been know to bowl over a catcher or two, though.  Sliding into sure outs is not allowed.  All of us remember Hunter's collision in Chicago a few years back that was a turning point in the season (ARRGH I can't remember who was catching for the White Sox).  Anyway, that collision sort of marked the point where the Twins took command of the AL Central.  It also made Hunter Chicago enemy #1.  He still is today.

I checked out Camden Chat, and oh my is it a different world over there.  A lot more cursing...  But, I guess I'd be cursing a lot more if my team was in the AL East where all the national media ignores you if you aren't the Yankees or Red Sox.

Please Clarify
You should clarify to your masses that most of the cursing has to do with Paul Bako even being on the team.  Not so much that Morneau threw a Kobe Bryant elbow to his chin.  Hell, if Hernandez were healthy we would have been rooting on "the greatest hockey player to ever lace them up for the Twins" or whatever it is you guys are calling him.

by the way BPinOK
love the signature.  With a signature like that, you're welcome anytime.

You're right. It was revolving around Bako.
But the Twins fans have some experience with superfluous catchers.  Chris Heintz this year.  Corky Miller (who?) in '05...  We feel your pain.

Anyway, I'm off to the game.

By the way...
Kubel starts his 2007 breakout to stardom tonight!

Going home...
I'm out guys...thanks for letting me stop by.  I'm on CST and everyone at Camden Chat abandons me about 4:00.  Hopefully I can stop by tomorrow and talk about the brilliant performance Cabrera had.  Enjoy the game.

Jamie Burke
Meet Torii Hunter.

Burke was a promising prospect before that collision. Now he's a roster filler for the Ranger's AAA team.

Free Matt Garza.

Back to take my medicine
OK, no one got plunked.

Alberto Castillo sucks but at least he can catch the ball which is better than Bako.

Cabrera made Torii look like Dave Stewart with a bat.

Bonser was good; O's bats were bad.

Kevin Millar is horrible.

Well, at least we have Jaret Wright tonight to keep us from getting swept...wait...Jaret Wright?  Nevermind.

Oh...good luck with Fatass aka Ponson.  I predict 10 losses, a DUI and a bar fight IF he makes it to July.

I think many of us...
are hoping he DOESN'T make it to July.  We have 3 stud prospects waiting in the wings that can get us far this year (Garza/Slowey/Perkins).  We're a better team, at least IMO, with those 3 in the rotation.

Only they who have seen the carnage can predict what is to come.  I fear your vision may prove only too accurate.
