Any interest here?
This article http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/07196/801846-63.stm from a Pittsburgh paper suggests that Atlanta might be willing to trade their star catching prospect in exchange for a upcoming young pitcher. I wonder if Boof (and maybe another player) would peek Atlanta's interests. Saltalamacchia could solve a lot of issues. He's a switch hitter with developing power, he's young and Gardy would finally get his third catcher! That's not important though really. For the rest of the year I could see him playing some 1B, C and then mostly DH. Over the offseason I'd give him 3B and see what he can do. I mean we've been talking about moving Joe to 3rd why not this kid? Conceivably he'd have all the right tools to play the position. I mean this deal would require some creativity but with the lack of viable 3B options in the market and in the organization, it's time to open the box up a little bit.
