McDonald down, Buscher up
McDonald was optioned to Rochester after the game today, but no official word on his replacement had been given, though Gardy apparently hinted at Buscher. It is now a done deal.
Let's hope he gets a fair shot and not just random at-bats to show what he can do up here.

Produce, produce.....
I may be thinking too much, but I think they wanted to see if McDonald could be someone other than Ford or Tyner in a few brief games. When he tanked, maybe they wished they had brought up Buscher. If Buscher can play third, then there is no doubt that Castillo would be gone, as Punto would become the second baseman with casilla in the wings and Cirillo helping out at third.
Who knows, maybe the Twins should've put Span into the fire and see what he's made of...better earlier than later or not at all.
Who's next? Not Garrett Jones. Can Matt LeCroy get a bit mroe service time, perhaps?

Not Matty
Lecroy's statistically the team's worst hitter by a long shot. He's probably the biggest reason the Red Wings have struggled. When you make 157 outs in the middle of the order, and you clog the bases when you do get on base, you're like an albatross around the team's neck. It would send the team the worst possible message if Lecroy got called up after a season with a .553 OPS.
