Around SBN: The Ten Worst Swings Of The 2011 Season

Looking at some A- ball pitchers

I want to get some opinons, on a few of these guys...

I left out Manship, and Robertson as I'd figure everyone would vote for them, but, honestly I don't see J. Manship as an ace or #2. Same goes for T. Robertson, (well maybe a #2)

I think these guys are young enough, to still take strides and leaps and bounds in 2008.

Of this group you almost have to...
...vote for Burnett.  At roughly the same age as as the youngest of this group, Burnett was arguably the Ace of the Beloit team that went to the final game of the MidWest League championship series.  Burnett's numbers aren't as spectacular as a couple of these guys, but he was pitching in A ball which is a huge step from either Rookie League.

DeVries had a wonderful season and probably has a 50-50 chance of making it to the Twins, but not as an ace.  McCardell had spectacular numbers, but was older and it remains to be seen how he does on a full season team.  Bromberg was the Appy League Pitcher of the Year while Michael Tarsi pitched very well and some believe he has a high upside although he was also a college player taken in last year's draft.  Berlind was the Ace of the GCL Twins, however, that is a long ways from the major leagues.  You may also want to take a look at Liam Hendriks who likewise was pitching in the GCL with numbers as good as Berlind.

Burnett for me
I need to see more from Bromberg before I can label him a potential ace. He's been very successful at both Rookie Leagues, so we'll see how he does in Beloit. If he comes up with another season, he might shoot straight to the top of many prospect lists.

By the way...
I'm not sure anyone sees Manship as an ace or #2.  The highest I've seen anyone project him is a #3 I think.

Robertson, on the other hand, could well be a different story.  He and Swarzak both have ace/#2 ceilings to me.
