Delaney

I went with Rob Delaney, but I could argue for Benson or Bromberg here as well.

Macri

I’m a bit surprised Macri is still on here and I’d missed him. I think he could be an ok platoon partner with Buscher right now (though I’d like to do better than that platoon, but it wouldn’t be AWFUL).

Went with Romero at this point...

…who I believe has a great deal of upside. Delaney and others could be good choices as well. Seth, lets keep Osterbrock on here for awhile. With McCardell on the list last time it is understandable Osterbrock wouldn’t get a lot of votes, but he was the best pitcher in the Appy League this year as was Bromberg last year.

Not Ladendorf

I know he was a highly rated junior college player. But until he does something in the minors, I can’t rank him in my top 40. .204/.308/.293/601 is pathetic for a 20 year old college kid in rookie ball. I don’t care if he was a 2nd round pick. By contrast, Plouffe hit .283/.340/.380/720 as an 18 year old high school kid at the same level as a former first-round draft choice. And I don’t even rate him in my top 20.

It’s like Henry Sanchez: Sandwich pick, BA’s top power bat of that draft. But he’s done nothing but get injured and strikeout. I’d be surprised if he gets a spring training invite at this point.

+1

I am shocked that Ladendorf got any votes CMath. He was a bust, IMO. Now maybe there is something we don’t know about, but until he does anything he doesn’t belong in the Top 100!

Too early

It’s too early to call him a bust, I would say. Could be an adjustment to the wood bat. Could be several things. It was very disappointing, but he’s got a true speed/power potential. Iagree with cmath for now, but I certainly would not give up on him in any way. He could come back next year and dominate the Appy League, or maybe he’ll get a shot at Beloit due to injury or something and take off. Too early to give up on him.

I normally don't use that term...

…and shouldn’t have in this instance. Unfortunately, all that we see is the stats and what we can read in the various papers and other reports such as Dianna’s. Expect that Tyler was as disappointed in his season as we were. Hopefully you are right and there was a reason we are not aware of and he comes back strong in 2009.

I wouldn't call him a bust

But he was surely a disappointment. And if he doesn’t start producing next year, I’ll call him a bust.

I do think Henry Sanchez, Garrett Olson, Johnny Woodard, David Shinskie, and Joe Benson are busts. If you’re drafted in the top four rounds and you don’t produce within three years of your draft, you’re a bust in my book. Laedendorf has got a couple of years to prove he’s not a bust.

If those guys had not been drafted so highly, I’m sure a few of them would have been sent home by now.

Has to be Romero...

I think this is my 5th vote in a row for him, if not more. He still has “special” upside.

Benson or Pridie will probably be next for me, followed by Delaney, Martin, Macri, and Pino.
