Martin...

Martin for me, just ahead of Singleton.

Getting tougher

But I chose Martin. He’s close to Pridie, but I think he has more upside, so I go with him. They’re the same age with comparable numbers the last couple of years, but, seriously, 152 Ks in AAA? That has to be some kind of record.

very close

I could argue either way. I think they are very similar… Pridie better defense and speed, can definitely play CF. Martin played a lot of CF this year and I assume adequately. The strikeouts are the thing for me too. But I could go back and forth.

Back to Martin...

…after switching to DeVries last round. He is playing solid in the AFL and likelihood that he will be at least a 4th outfielder looks highly likely. Expect there is still some question as to whether or not DeVries will ever make it to the major leagues. Thus, Martin is more advanced as of this time with also a higher ceiling. Although, another year like last year at AA and DeVries will move up a lot on next year’s list.

Martin...

…but just barely over Singleton, Alex Burnett, and Pridie, in that order, and without a lick of substance to my reasoning.

Pridie again

Harp on the strikeout all you want, lets look at the #‘s. Pridie has been named a top defensive outfielder at 5 different levels of the minors. He actually been named a top 20 league prospect at 3 different levels. He is a career .278 .322 .433 hitter. In 3001 ab’s he has K’ed 634 times or 21%. He features a terrific arm with accuracy, with solid line drive rates. I’m not saying he is a super star in the making, but offensively he will hold his own, and defensively he is a standout.

Martin

he is just all round solid. I have to say Randy Winn clone.

I don't think Martin is that similar to Winn...

He’s more of a power guy I think longterm, or at least has more power potential to me. But overall he’s also not as good, and doesn’t have the speed of Winn. I think that’s right at least.

I like Martin a lot, but I go Pridie for now. Martin is next for me.

Not Dinkelman

At least not yet. He’s put up decent numbers throughout his minor league career, but he’s always been a year or two older than the median for his level. At this rate, he won’t make it to AAA until he’s 25 or 26. Unless he’s putting up great numbers, that’s not prospect material. His numbers are merely good.

Seth...

…Why don’t you call this one over and give Pridie #27 and Dustin Martin #28. That would let you start the next vote. I for one hope that you will continue all the way to #50. If you begin taking the top 2-3 of each vote it won’t take that long. Please!

Yes, let's do that

Gabino and Barrett

Also, I’d like to add Armando Gabino and Ricky Barrett to the list at this point. Gabino was just added to the 40 man roster. He’s been a very good reliever for the Twins since they drafted him in the Rule 5 from Cleveland. And, after listening to your podcast the other night Seth, I have a higher opinion of Barrett. The Voice of the Red Wings thought he ought to be added to the 40 man and given a shot to make the team out of spring training. It was his first healthy season in a few and he showed what he can do when he has a consistent full season under his belt. I would not be surprised if he is drafted in the Rule 5 if they do not protect him.
