Zach Ward
I think the Twins may very well regret dangling Zach Ward. I wish they would have protected him. He has precisely the stuff the Twins need in a right handed middle reliever. He will never make it as a starter…but he can be a very useful reliever.
I have a feeling we are about to find that out….just not with the Twins

I agree with that....
I think we’re going to lose him, and I think he’ll be a pretty good reliever for a while, personally.
Yep
My sentiments exactly. He’s never had a FIP over 4 in four minor league stops, nor has he had a GB% under 50. So he’ll make a useful middle reliever for someone next year, especially a rebuilding team. When you see what middle relievers are going for (Coco for Ramiriez, e.g.), $50,000 is nothing. Personally I would have protected him instead of Butera. We don’t need five catchers on the 40-man roster.

Agreed...
There is way too much organizational man-love for catchers with the Twins.
eduardo morlan
I see via MLBtraderumors.com (who got his info from several other sources) that the Rays are exposing Eduardo Morlan to the Rule 5. Any interest in bringing him back? I remember people were bummed he was included in the Delmon-Garza trade rather than Rincon. Last year at AA he had 47 IP, 45 Ks, 44 hits, 1.26 WHIP. Is he ready to stick in somebody’s bullpen?
I remember quite a bit of groaning after giving up him in the trade…its interesting that the Rays dont have enough room for him now

I'd take a shot on him...
but I doubt he makes it to us. Someone else will claim him first.
Another guy I like is Alan Horne from the Yanks.
This all depends on whether or not we can clear up our bullpen logjam, however. That means 2 of Humber/Boof/Guerrier/Crain/Breslow need to go in all likelihood.
