The obvious picks...

…are probably Dinkelman or Machado, although there may be enough questions about Machado to keep him out of your top 50. You know how I like Portes and Peterson, however, I went with Steven Hirschfield whom I believe has the highest upside of any on this list. The possible exception for me may have been Garcia, but pitching only in rookie ball leaves a lot of questions vs. what Hirschfield was able to to at Beloit. As for who needs to be added to future lists…..I think we need to have anyone the Twins have on their 40-man roster as well as in the AFL. That would mean Tim Lahey should be a possible selection. Others that need to get some consideration IMO would include Zach Ward, Alex Burnett, Matt Fox, Blair Erickson, Matt Williams, Yancarlos Ortiz, Edward Ovalle, Michael Tarsi, Charles Nolte and Loek VanMil.

Bigley

.300/.360/.587/947 That was his line in E-Town last year, with 30 XBH including 14 homers in 213 at bats. Those are better numbers than Waltenbury, though Bigley is a year older.

Here are some names who did not put up as good of numbers in E-Town:

Danny Valencia
Luke Hughes
Trevor Plouffe
Rene Tosoni

Jason Kubel
Denard Span

How encouraging...

… to see legitimate prospects not make a top 40 list, for a change. Think about it for a minute, that long shots like Robbins, Ovalle, Porte and Macri are falling off. And that legitimate prospects like Soto, Morales, and Tippet can’t crack the list. THe indicators are very positive, don’t you think?
