Buscher or Jones, who do you keep?

I read somewhere that this spring a decision has to be made on these guys.

Star-divide

So the question I putting out there is who would you keep. From watching them play last season I have to say that I'd rather keep Buscher. I know the Twins signed Lamb for a couple of years and Harris can play 3B but I don't think Garret Jones is worth losing Buscher.

If I could only keep one, Buscher is the guy I keep in the organization. What does the board think?

Well...
Since Jones is out of options, I'd keep him. But if it came down to choosing between the two (if both were out of options), I'd choose Buscher.

Well...
Buscher would be my pick...he now can play both 3B and 1B.  He has a good bat, much more consistent than Jones.  Buscher is my vote.

It isn't a choice of losing...
...one or the other.  Jones is out of options, I believe Buscher is not as he wasn't added to the 40-man roster until last summer.  Thus, Jones can be kept and Buscher sent to Rochester.  The question is more likely whom will do the best job for the Twins in 2008?  If it is Buscher, then Jones would most likely be gone.  Maybe Mr. Smith needs to work with Gardy, keep Jones for a short period of time until he can be dealt for something, then bring Buscher up.

I'm glad I read the article incorrectly
I thought it said they were both out of options.

I'm not sure what you would get for Jones, not much I would expect if the trade was for him alone. Maybe in a package though?

Jonesey
I think his name fits better than Buschersey.

In all honesty though I say keep Jones at first just to see what he can do.  He doesn't have that much MLB experience and unless he is just horrible all spring I say give him a shot at least and like others said maybe trade him for a raw prospect or in some sort of package.

Gardy's Answer
You get rid of them both so you can keep Corky Miller.

A further choice......
Would I rather have Buscher as back-up at third or first, or coming off the bench and being an alternative for DH? How about Jones, backs up first and the outfield, can DH or come off the bench. Hummmm....makes Craig Monroe looks mighty expendable. He can only play the OF or DH. Then you can keep 2 of three...Span, pridie or Gomez.

Not sure on Buscher. The Twins signed him as a Rule 5 minor league draftee last season.

Buscher has all three options
He was added to the 40-man for the first time in his career last year for his call-up. If he doesn't make the team out of spring, he'll consume his first option.
