I create

them...on the new platform you can schedule something to post in the future. It's what I've done with the game threads.

We just

We just make sure that one of the four of us puts one up before every game.

Ug

Ug, as I typed that last comment, Blackburn threw a wild pitch to give tha Angels a 1-0 lead in the top of the seventh. Blackburn is still pitching very well though...

Blackburn

I haven't been watching the game terribly closely, but in the recap of Blackburn's outing after he got pulled, was that his fastball that was diving all over the damn place? It looked it was dropping a good eight inches in the last few feet before hitting Redmond's glove. If he can keep throwing that thing for strikes (which he certainly was today), he'll make a hell of a MLB pitcher.

K-Rod

Here comes K-Rod in a 1-0 game. It's pretty tough to score runs when your manager pulls 3 of your best hitters, Mauer, Kubel, and Lamb, and replaces them with Redmond, Monroe, and Punto (ok, so Redmond isn't so bad, but those last two, ug).

We'll get pinch hitters though. Is Everett at the park? That changes things...

Nope

Nope, i guess he isn't. Switch-hitter Tolbert will stay in the game and hit against K-Rod. I assume then Gomez will hit, followed by Mauer pinch hitting for Harris.

4 pitch walk starts off the inning. We may in be in business against K-Rod.

I think...

...it's pretty much a rite of passage for a new Twins pitcher to take the loss on a great start.

Probably Blackburn had a text message from Bradke waiting for him when he got back to the dugout. "Welcome to Minnesota, kid."

Good news

The Twins have a new pitcher on staff with quality stuff. Looks like BA was on the money in pegging Blackburn as the # 1 prospect (pre-trade, of course) in the Twins organization.

When we get our offense turned around, or stop playing the Angels, I think we'll be more than fine.

Morneau still hasn't hit a ball

out of the infield...

Our offense better pick it up or it won't matter who they are playing.

Pitch Sequence

I'm seeing the same pitch sequence to him again and again. It's the same as it was in 05 and early 06.

Fastball away
Fastball away
Fastball away
Curveball low and in
Fastball away
Fastball away

The difference between now and then is that he's not a sucker for the curveball. The bad thing is that he's trying to pull the away pitch trying to get a HR. He needs drive that weak sauce into the left-center gap. He did it in 06, make the adjustment Justin, or Vavra tell him to make the adjustment.
