Ben Revere Promoted

Injuries in Beloit make room for promising outfielder.

Third base prospect Deibinson Romero and sleeper pitching prospect Mike McCardell were placed on the disabled list by the Beloit Snappers, and in conjunction with the release of relief pitcher Dominique Rogers has made room for three players from the GCL Twins.  Outfielder Ben Revere, and pitchers Brad Tippett and Santos Arias were the benefactors of the moves.

Star-divide

According to Dianna over at Rookie Whites, Revere has been putting on quite the display with the rookie-league team, and in addition to his flash on defense had this to say about a recent exxtended spring training game:

He was 2-for-4 at the plate with a double in the contest, 1 run and 2 RBIs. The 28th overall pick in the 2007 draft out of Lexington Catholic High School in Kentucky, Revere hit .325 with 10 triples and 46 runs scored for the GCL Twins. He also stole 21 bases, and recored an .388 on-base percentage.

One of the questions most asked around Hammond Stadium as been when will we see Revere on the Miracle. While the answer initially was "not this year" we may have to amend that, as original estimates had placed Revere at short season E-Town in 2008. If he continues to hit well at the Low-A level, a mid-or-late season promotion to Fort Myers may not be out of the question.

I got nothin'.

Even the official Beloit web page doesn’t list why he was released, only that he was.
