I had hoped...

I didn't really expect it, but I had really hoped that Kubel would be in either the #2 or #3 spot. My lineup:

Gomez
Mauer
Kubel
Young
Morneau
Monroe
Lamb
Tolbert
Everett

I really think that because of his patience at the plate, Kubel benefits more from lineup protection than others in the lineup. Oh well.

Mauer

I think Mauer will bat third until Cuddyer comes back. I think they almost have to do it that way...

Hernandez

So who's going to be the team that finally lights him up. KC today? Chicago next week or maybe not until Detroit...

P.S. if Kelly Theiser reports again that a pitcher had a bad start because he didn't keep the ball down, I might have to kill myself.

Meche

He's not that good, but he'll probably shut us down for at least 7 innings today. This offense is just not clicking. Someone please tell Delmon to stop swinging at the first pitch, it's infuriating.

Morneau is out of the "slump" with that last three-run shot!

MLB Gameday

As far as a free source of live baseball, Gameday is pretty great, however, can anyone explain what the "PFX" number that is displayed on all the MLB Gameday pitches is? I just can't figure it out.

Livan's "changeup"

I was noticing on gameday it's been labeling Livan's fastballs as changeups because they're only hitting 85 mph. Then when they do hit 86 it calls 'em fastballs. Just an amusing thing i noticed.

Peyton's good but have you ever heard of Jeff George?

Beat me

I was just going to post the same thing! I've only seen about 2 or 3 "fastballs" from Livan and a rediculous number "changeups"

Signature

BTW. Where'd you get your signature from? It made me laugh.

Livan on a prayer

we might have to start calling him "Magic Man". These guys are trying so hard to light him up and he's just getting so much movement on his stuff that none of them can get solid contact. I know if I was a major leaguer I'd be just liking my chops swinging at everything with Livan on the mound.

P.S. if Kelly Theiser reports again that a pitcher had a bad start because he didn't keep the ball down, I might have to kill myself.

Tolbert

Checking out his ABs today has really impressed me. He's currently 2 for 3, but has seen at least 5 or 6 pitches per AB. He's taking balls, fouling off pitches and making good contact. I like it.

Of course, I'm just watching the game via Gameday. Is anyone watching his ABs that can vouch for this?

Livan

Livan once again made it seven innings. Great! Perfect for Neshek or Guerrier, then Nathan can wrap things up.

Guerrier

Rather unimpressive outing for Matty. Looked a little shaky, throwing a lot of balls well out of the strikezone. 23 pitches, 12 for strikes.
