Look
Look at that for Dice K. 22 hits in 41 IP, but 27 walks. If the Twins can’t be patient this game, which is not anywhere near their strong suit, we are big time toast in this game. There is a substantial danger of the Red Sox big righty bats feasting on Perkins, a lefty fly ball pitcher too…
"You can't sit on a lead and run a few plays into the line and just kill the clock. You've got to throw the ball over the damn plate and give the other man his chance. That's why baseball is the greatest game of them all."

Let's hope the Twins legendary patience doesn't fail them

Aawwwwww....
Monroe strikes out swinging with Lamb stranded at second. Papelbon left a couple of fastballs right over the plate, but Craigsy swung right through them.
Twins fall to 18-17.

Can anyone tell me why Perkins is starting
instead of in the bullpen? Seems like we need more bullpen help than in the rotation…

because
because the Twins want to see what he is like as a starter there was no room for him last year before he got hurt

I guess
I guess there is no edit button. heh. I was going to add that the Twins feel he should get a good look as a starter before moving him to the pen. Thats what the TV folk and Dan Gladden on the radio always say

wow
I hate this .500 record. We are just sitting on the edge of contention, and cannot bring up very many minor league prospects if we want to remain close.
If we were way out of the race, however, we could bring up and test quite a few prospects. I would love to see Brian Deunsing, Luke Hughes, Deolis Guerra, Mariano Gomez, or Brian Buscher back up in the Bigs.
