Tyner rips Twins for letting him go
The Tyniest Outfielder isn't happy about the Twins' letting him go - at all. "I thought I did my job. I guess they didn’t think about that when they made the decision. I’d like to get a shot at them. I know that," he said.

He sounds upset.
As much as I enjoyed Tyner, and my dad enjoyed watching him even more, sometimes it’s just business. Sometimes you can do your job, as a fourth outfielder, and still be replaced. Sometimes you can do your job as one of the top three outfielders and still be replaced. It’s the name of the game, but it isn’t like Tyner brought something to this club that couldn’t be easily replaced.
It’s always nice to get a shot at a team who let you go or whatever, but he actually sounds upset about it.
Dime=dozen
You can find plenty of Jason Tyners out there. He would not have returned to the Twins at the big-league minimum, and if there are plenty of other guys like him in AAA why bother to spend another penny on him? In addition, the Twins are hardly short on outfielders. You’ve got Kubel and Monroe, and they can’t both DH each day. You’ve got Gomez, Cuddyer and Young – and Span as a golden boy prospect. The bottom line is that Tyner was not a good extra outfielder. You need someone who can hit the ball out of the park in that role, and in fact if Tyner had some power he would have seen more action as a pinch-hitter. Five singles as a pinch-hitter last season? That doesn’t send the opposing manager to his bullpen for a lefty.
You’re scrappy, Jason. That’s great. But then, you have to be scrappy.
I'd still like
to see him get a PA against the Twins at the ‘Dome. Because you know when he steps up, he’ll get a big ovation from the crowd. People loved their Tyniest outfielder, how couldn’t they?
So now...
...does he hate the Indians too?
