Cuddy
I see he’s already got a hit this game but I’d really like to see him given a day off. I think DHing Mauer, leaving Morneau in at 1B (why not DH him on a day when Mauer is catching?) giving Cuddy a day off by putting either Kubel or Monroe out there.
Then again, I’ve been wanting Gardy to put Delmon on the bench for a day and he seems to be playing through his problems as his bat has really come alive lately.
Peyton's good but have you ever heard of Jeff George?

Move him down
His plate appearances are ugly, the pitches he swings at are ugly, and the contact is ugly. Dude needs to relax, he need to come up in a few non-pressure situations. He’s constantly up with runners on and 1 or 2 outs and he’s really pressing.

True . .
. . moving down Delmon seems to have helped him calm down a bit. Maybe it’s time to move him back up to #5 (like he is today) and give Cuddy some time at the bottom of the order to find his swing again.

What's gotten into Livan?
HGH? According to Gameday he just hit 87 mph 3 times while pitching to Kinsler. He’s bringing the heat today, look out Texas.

Twins keep chipping away
and Texas keep pulling away. With 5 runs scored the Twins should only be down 1. Is missing Neshek the cause for all this trama?
It would be a great win if they can pull it off.

Here's a ?
So on gameday it said he dropped the 3rd strike. In that situation could the catcher try for the double play by throwing out to 2nd and then hoping the 2B can relay it back to 1st in time for the DP? I would think it would be very doable with a slow runner batting. Is this even legal? Just a thought that popped up there in the ole noggin

Nope
If first base is occupied, you can’t reach base on a dropped third strike unless there are two outs – in that case, the catcher could throw to second for the force, although it likely wouldn’t really make sense unless there was some weird situation like the batter was too wide to throw around to get the out at first. With the bases loaded and two outs, all the catcher has to do on a dropped third strike is touch the plate.

I thought he was well used this game
I’m just glad they brought him in in the 9th. He did throw 23 pitches in the one inning so I can understand taking him out there. I’m watching this thing unfold on Gameday so I saw that the pitch before the homer looked like it was a fat hanging slider. I thought to myself damn he got lucky then I see the ball in play runs scored on the next pitch that was basically the exact same just a little bit lower.

Hamilton's HR
Looks like it was an opposite field doinker…. Any chance of putting the plexy back up in left?

Go on Gameday
That doesn’t surprise me one bit that it was opposite field. It looked like he was actually working him pretty well after falling behind 3-1 by jamming him for a foul ball to get that 2nd strike. Then he left what looked like on gameday to be two hanging sliders on the outside of the plate, got lucky on the first one and not so much on the second.

yeah--it had dinger written all over it
I saw the pitch on ESPN replay and it was hanging like a tee ball. If he was a pull hitter and had gotten it, it probably would have put a hole in the dome roof and landed on Nicollet Mall.

HR ball landing on Nicollet Mall...
Makes me wonder if the only HR we’ll see Mauer hit this year is the one in the TV ad w/ Cuddyer and Morneau. Then again, we never actually see it leave the construction site, it probably hooked foul.

3 thigh high fastballs and he doesn’t swing…
Then he swings at one out of the zone. Dude needs a day off.

Losing
I don’t like losing, but it really sucks when the other team keeps trying to give the game to you and you just keep returning the favor. The Twins have not been playing very sound baseball. They need a little focus.
