do feel a little bad
for Mike Lamb…Gutierrez made a catch on his screaming liner, right up against the wall.
oh well.
just tuning in,
and I cant tell if I am happy the Twins have a big lead, or disappointed that I missed the action.

i'd go with disappointed...
...it’s been good action so far. a couple nice doubles, a home run, some nice pitching.
going back to the top of the 4th for a second.
casilla walks. mauer walks. a wild pitch in mauer’s PA moves casilla up to second.
now, i know elarton’s first pitch to justin was FAT, right over the plate…but why be swinging with how he’d been throwing? leading 6-1 it’s not a big deal, i know…
good point
I think its harder to have patience when everyone is having success. You end up wanting a piece of that action.

walks are great,
but three run homers pad the stats a little better.

i just caught the cuddyer catch on replay.
nice grab, cuddles! looked a little painful on that belly flop onto the turf, but color me impressed!
mentioned Carlos Silva is 3-7
But overall he has pitched pretty well. Quite a few quality starts, especially in April.
may was pretty bad, but he had a couple of gems in there as well. Silva is an interesting comparison with hernandez.
They look pretty similar in numbers yet Hernandez if 6-3.

which is why
awarding a pitcher a stat based on a team result makes no sense in today’s baseball. 100, 60…even 30 years ago this made sense. win-loss records are fun to look at for a pitcher, but they no longer hold much critical weight.
but you’re right—they have been pretty similar. and silva’s getting 11 mil a year!
agreed on the W-L record
Although ESPN has Silva only geeting 8.5 million this year to Hernandez’ 5

you're right i think.
i just knew silva signed something like a 4-yr, $44 million deal in the off-season…so i took an estimated average.
uffffddddaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dennys Reyes!

you never know...
...but really, he definitely couldn’t have done any worse in that at-bat.
so, probably.
i mean, its another Dumb Move by Gardy, Breslow is Basically unhittable so far with the Twins, Common sense, you expect to use the guy who is unhittable in situations like that….Nice Catch by Cuddy to preserve the Lead
umm..
the fact that Breslow came from the Indians would have made that move very dumb. The Indians would have known what he throws and would have jumped all over him. Look what happens whenever J.C. Romero pitches against us – 1 out giving up 3 runs, 5 hits etc…
He's done well,
but he’s been far from unhittable. 13 hits and 6 walks in 14 innings is okay, but not great. Reyes had done a decent job for the Twins this year so far, those were his first runs since May 23.
I’m not saying sending in Reyes was the right move, but there isn’t a clear reason to go with Breslow over Reyes, unless you think he’s more likely to get a strikeout in that situation. Breslow hasn’t been exposed too much…we still have to see if he’s as good as we think he can be or if he’s nothing special.
Reyes and Rincon
Both need to go. That is all.
