Food for thought
Not that this would really happen with Gardy at the helm, but would you catch Redmond tomorrow and give us a chance versus Sheets on Sunday with Mauer in the lineup?
Gardenhire's major league career: Banjo hitting, futility infielder who couldn't lick it.
Rick Anderson's major league career: Strikethrower who never made it happen with his sub 90's fastball.
Really gives a new definition to living vicariously through other people, don't it?

Yes.
But, uh, yeah. Gardy wouldn’t do that, it’d mess with the system!

Mauer
Will probably catch all three games this series. So we can have it both ways. One of the things Gardy is doing is only giving Mauer one day off a week max. Taking Thursday off ensures that Mauer won’t need a rest again until next Thursday’s off day. H used to always rest him on day games after night games. But Joe told him he wanted to play more this year. That’s why he’s third in the league in innings caught.
