Cuddyer To DL, Span is back on the Roster.
Michael Cuddyer has been placed on the 15 Day DL with an inflamed Tendon in a finger on his right hand. This is Cuddyer's Second Stint on the DL this season, he was on the DL earlier this season with an Inflammed Tendon in a finger on his Left Hand. Cooincidence?
Denard Span has been called up from Rochester. Span was hitting 342 going into Sundays Game vs the Pawtucket Red sox with 53 Hits, 11 Doubles, 1 Triple, 3 Home Runs, 14 RBI, 26 walks, 36 Strike outs and 15 Stolen Bases.

Thanks, Tony_O
He’s been great at Rochester this year. I’d like to actually see him get some playing time though, and keep Monroe to come off the bench to PH when necessary.

Hey Jesse, I'm a "contributing author" from the Sox SBN site
the dude on whose Twins article you commented, in fact. I was thinking about putting together an AL Central blog exchange thingy, wherein all parties would write both on the team he/she covers and his/her impressions of the team where the blog post would be. In any case, I think a post about the Twins’ chances going forward for a Sox audience as well as your impressions of the Sox would be cool to post on SSS. If you don’t feel the need to reciprocate, it doesn’t bother me none.
are you trying to use stats around here? what the fuck do you think this is? - MM

I'd be for that.
You can find my email address in my profile. Let me know what you’re looking for and what kind of timeline you’re on, and we’ll work something out.

I Think Span will be getting some Starts in Right with Kubel or Monroe at DH, don’t Be surpised to see Gardy Start Span in Right and Kubel in Left with Monroe at DH. he seems to have been sitting Delmon Young alot more that normal lately.

Gomez too
If there’s a pitcher with dominating splits against righties, I wouldn’t be surprised to Gomez get a few nights off too.

Could he play 2b?
Given the fact that seemingly half the teams in the league have 2 too many outfielders on their roster and AAA, it appears that Span has no trade value even if he continues to hit and get on base.
Is it time to consider him for another position like 2B? Between Gomez in front of him and Revere behind him in a couple years, it just doesn’t seem like he has a place on this roster unless he can play an infield spot effectively.

Span isn't going to be moving to the infield...
...for several reasons. First, he is one of the fastest, better defensive outfielders in the organization. Second, he throws left handed. I think we can expect Span to play much like the first time up, good at bats with a solid average. He will steal a few bases and play very good outfield now that he has had his first exposure to center and right at the Dome. Welcome back Denard.

Well...
For all of the people crying for Span’s return to the roster, here it is. Let’s see what he can do.

Anybody else...
want to see what Delmon could do in right over the next few weeks?
I wouldn’t mind an outfield of Span-Gomez-Young or Kubel-Gomez-Young while Cuddyer is out.
