Around SBN: Bracketology 2012: Duke Finally Steps Up To The No. 1 Line

White Sox @ Rangers

By Request.  This won't be a regular thing, but considering the pennant race we're in and how closely we're trailing Chicago, we'll do a little something special tonight!  Lineups and starting pitchers, after the jump...

Thanks Jesse!

this is great.

Millwood strikes out the first two and then Quentin pops up to first base.

Seriously...

The top half of that Texas lineup is loaded. Imagine if they had even decent pitching.

I know

they would be unstoppable. I didnt think Bradley was going to have this kinda year! wow.

what do you

think it would take to make Texas trade Kinsler to us? We could move Casilla to SS and if we had Harris/Buscher at 3B we could have a pretty solid infield (except fielding would be a little drastic.)

"What do you think it would take to make Texas trade Kinsler to us?"

An act of God. Him and Mauer at the top of the lineup would be a sabermetrician’s wet dream.

Danks

matches Millwood with 2 strikeouts and 1 groundout….

by BCTwins on Jul 12, 2008 7:20 PM EDT reply actions

and Konerko

is the first base runner of the game as he strokes a single to CF.

by BCTwins on Jul 12, 2008 7:27 PM EDT reply actions

it is

interesting that Konerko did not want to score there and the base hit by Crede. He obviously fears being thrown out at home by Hamilton.

by BCTwins on Jul 12, 2008 7:35 PM EDT reply actions

and

Millwood battles out of the bases loaded two out jam there by getting the hot hitting Ramirez to fly out to right.

by BCTwins on Jul 12, 2008 7:35 PM EDT reply actions

And...

Texas takes the lead.

by matty_b on Jul 12, 2008 7:38 PM EDT reply actions

could you imagine a lineup if you combined Texas and MN?

1. Kinsler – 2B
2. Casilla – SS
3. Mauer – C
4. Morneau – 1B
5. Hamilton – RF
6. Bradley – DH
7. Young – LF
8. Harris/Buscher – 3B
9. Gomez – CF

can you imagine that lineup????

by BCTwins on Jul 12, 2008 7:41 PM EDT reply actions

it would be the balls.

but sadly, it won’t happen.

if only life were a video game!

by Jesse on Jul 12, 2008 7:44 PM EDT up reply actions

haha

yeah…that would be one powerful lineup.

Maybe throw in Rodriguez at 3B and Jose Reyes or Hanley Ramirez at SS.

Have Liriano as our ace (2006 form of course), Volquez, Cliff Lee, Brandon Webb, and Jake Peavy.

Can I saw World Series for 10 straight years???

by BCTwins on Jul 12, 2008 7:49 PM EDT up reply actions

at the end of two

Texas holds a 1-0 lead. Go Millwood!!!

by BCTwins on Jul 12, 2008 7:42 PM EDT reply actions

Millwood

put leadoff two men on and the gets next two outs. Facing Thome now.

Dick n’ Bert have their flaws, but these Sox announcers are just awful. Do Sox fans even like hearing “He gone”?

by matty_b on Jul 12, 2008 7:53 PM EDT reply actions

sox

announcers are some of the worst I have ever heard. Actually they are the worst.

by BCTwins on Jul 12, 2008 7:54 PM EDT up reply actions

Thome

walks and now Konerko is due up. Bases loaded yet again with 2 outs.

Come on Mill!

by BCTwins on Jul 12, 2008 7:54 PM EDT reply actions

uh-oh

first pitch swinging and Konerko ties the game.

by BCTwins on Jul 12, 2008 7:55 PM EDT reply actions

Rangers back on top!

Hamilton singles, Salty scores…2-1, Texas

by Jesse on Jul 12, 2008 8:13 PM EDT reply actions

On the called strike the previous inning...

“Terrible call. Awful.”

Next pitch after the cut from replay, in the same spot…

Called strike.

“There you go!”

Bias is awesome.

to let you

know how beautiful the top 4 in the Texas lineup is: they all have 50 or more RBI.

Kinsler – 53
Young – 50
Hamilton – 94
Bradley – 55

by BCTwins on Jul 12, 2008 8:31 PM EDT reply actions

ugh

this game has kinda gotten out of control but Texas is still within striking distance. They just have to figure out Danks.

by BCTwins on Jul 12, 2008 9:28 PM EDT reply actions

Texas really needs to focus on developing their staff. You think a team with Nolan Ryan in the high ups would put a little focus on pitching.
