I know.

I was expressing my dislike for that confusion yesterday…

Eckersley doesn't look any different.

It might as well be 1993 all over again.

Rod Carew!

He looks like he could still hit…

by Jesse on Jul 15, 2008 8:16 PM EDT reply actions

They paid him

I think he got like $1 million to go in with a Yankee cap. The Pads paid Winfield $500,000 to not wear a Yankee cap, but he brought one along to show to the fans despite his hatred of the Boss.

WILLIE MAYS!!!!

How can you not get goose bumps from just seeing the man?

by Jesse on Jul 15, 2008 8:22 PM EDT reply actions

He didn't even bat an eye

Just stood there, didn’t tip his cap. Nothing.

Dave Winfield is a big, big man.

And I think he’d still play if he could. He’s massive!

REG-GIE-JACK-SON!!

It’s awesome seeing all these guys.

You’re about three feet tall!!

Nobody is ever allowed

to bitch to me about bad announcing, ever again. I have a Brit, and the first American they could find that they pulled off the street. This is NOT going to be good.

Stranded.

Hamilton and A-Rod: FAIL.

0-0 after one.

by Jesse on Jul 15, 2008 8:59 PM EDT up reply actions

OH MY GOD

The color man was just talking about how “a couple of years ago, Joe Mauer won the batting title on the last day of the year. He took it away from Derek Jeter.”

SON. OF. A. BITCH.

Not EVERYTHING revolves around the YANKEES. Mauer had the lead all damn year, dipshit. He cooled off in the waning weeks and Jeter nearly caught him…but he didn’t.

by Jesse on Jul 15, 2008 9:18 PM EDT reply actions

If anyone was going

to have to “take” something away, Jeter (or Cano, for that matter) would have had to take it from Mauer. They couldn’t.

by Jesse on Jul 15, 2008 9:19 PM EDT up reply actions

This is all SO WRONG!!

“And I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised, becaus all the players are mates and get on well away from the pitch.”

Dammit.

by Jesse on Jul 15, 2008 9:23 PM EDT reply actions

Meh. I'm going to bed.

That way, tomorrow I can watch the game itself, then fast-forward between innings so I don’t have to deal with the Brit and quasi-American.

Dang, Morneau almost won the game for the AL!

At this rate,

we may go around the horn again. and again. Heck, Cliff Lee might have a chance to win it for the AL.

Really would have loved to see Morneau win the game there.

Maybe then he could get some love after being an afterthought during the Josh Hamilton Show last night.

Uggla

Yeah, bad day for him. He also booted another ball that he managed to still make an out. And his hitting was almost as bad: an 0-4 night with a GIDP in extras with the go-ahead run on third and 3 strikeouts, including one on Soria’s nasty breaking ball where he was completely fooled.

by Hoya on Jul 16, 2008 10:53 AM EDT up reply actions

Pity

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a player have as bad a game as Uggla had. I really feel sorry for him – it was a very unfortunate time to have an off-day.

And Jusitn scores the winning run.

It’s over…finally.

A good

A good two days for the Twins. Justin wins the derby, then scores twice, including the winning run on Tuesday. Mauer gets on base twice in two trips to the plate and Nathan sits bitches down in his inning of work.

Lookin’ good! Can’t say the same for the Marlins and their four errors…
