Let's go!

Man, Mr. Lee sure has put it together this year. I knew his W-L record was amazing due to excellent run support, but hell if he hasn’t thrown the heck out of the ball, as Gardy would say.

I love the way you capitalized that sentence. Makes it seem like it’s a summer blockbuster movie title.

I’d pay $10 to go see that ;)

What's up Twinkie Town...

...just got in from a night out…looks like the Twins might have just gotten their motivation to bring up Liriano, eh?

versus Texas

the series after the break.

It hasn’t been that long.

by Jesse on Jul 25, 2008 8:59 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I think

go back to the last game of the Texas series. Morneau got drilled on the knuckles by a 90+ mph pitch from CJ Wilson
He just doesnt seem the same after that

by DedicatedFollowerOfFashion on Jul 25, 2008 9:00 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I had forgotten about that

they made so little fuss over the hit, I wonder if it hurt him more than they have let on

by caluofmn on Jul 25, 2008 9:02 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

OK...

...so WTF happened to GOMEZ???

by Jesse on Jul 25, 2008 8:59 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Got hurt.

Plain and simple. Livan was trying to kill both of his best outfielders tonight.

it looked like a hard hit but I expected to see him get up

he’s been pretty tough this season but to be on a stretch and neck brace… I didn’t see that coming

Here's a dark thought...

...or silver lining, depending on how you look at it:

Denard Span won’t have to worry what will happen to him when Michael Cuddyer comes off the DL.

At least, if Gomez’s injury is as bad as it sounds.

by Jesse on Jul 25, 2008 9:07 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I

I have a hunch it won’t be as long as people are saying. He will probably miss the entire Chicago series, but he might be back after that.

Then again, I’m not the medical guru.

that's Livan for you

throws nothing but junk, gets smack around more than a wife on cops and still somehow is good for 100+ pitches

only good thing tonight is no use of the pen

Silva

I remember going to a game 2 years ago where he had given up some runs early and Gardy left him out there to figure it out. Anyways he went 8 2/3 innings and it was like the umpire wouldn’t let him complete the game. 2 or 3 batters could’ve been wrung up looking but it was like the umpire wouldn’t allow a 5 run complete game on his watch. Silva and Gardy both ended up getting tossed. One of my favorite memories as a twins fan, as twisted as it sounds.

Lamb just sucks.

Nevermind

here comes the southpaw.

Wait…..so you start him versus lefties…but he can’t hit in a crucial situation against them? You’d rather turn to the hard-luck third baseman?

Yep. Still confused.
