This isn't final though, he still needs to ok the move, though I don't see that being an issue.

I know they say you don’t make trades based off what other teams do, but I think the Twins need to do something to upgrade their lineup. Especially wiht Casilla out.

Where will he play?

The Sox already have Thome and Konerko for 1B/DH and Quentin, Swisher, and Dye in the outfield. I guess Swisher could move to 1st and Konerko could just be a bench player, but if it’s true that the Sox are planning to put Griffey in center I’m not sure that he’s even an upgrade. At this point in his career he’s really just a league average hitter (103 OPS+ this year), and if he’s playing centerfield his defense is only subtracting from his value.

I'd guess they'd alternate him in right

field and DH. Who knows who they’d put in center, but it couldn’t be that much worse than Swisher…for the Twins sake, yeah, I hope it’s Griffey.

According to Buster Olney they want him in center. He said he doesn’t think it’ll help that much because he is no longer suited for center. Also, ESPN thinks they platoon Konerko and Swisher at first.

Griffey

Playing Griffey in Center Field would be another laugh at how many poor defenders the Sox have marched out there in recent years.

And despite him being 6th (almost 5th) on the all time HR list, he’s not having much of a year, even with his recent hot bat.

But still, my favorite player of the post Kirby Puckett era going to the hated Sox? What am I supposed to think about this?
