wait, why do people do that?

not yet

Campos is having trouble putting the gear on.

Punt

How many words can we make with that? I like the one that rhymes with the powdered breakfast drink used by astronauts.

I can't believe MLB is still doing this

Look at the video section of the front page of MLB.com. “All eyes were on Josh Hamilton at the Home Run Derby.” Give at least some credit to Jason Justin Morneau, darn it!!

C'mon Buscher

The team needs at least one insurance run!

by Alexi Casilla All-Star on Aug 13, 2008 3:16 PM EDT reply actions

well a plus

is that Buscher could have had a lot of extra swings

by BCTwins on Aug 13, 2008 3:17 PM EDT reply actions

Just our luck

When we have a fast-paced game where our pitcher can go 7 or more, we have this kind of delay. What do you think the chances are that Slowey comes back out after this break?

Damon's arm

ha ha Damon! You throw like a girl.

I'd walk Ruiz to face Punto personally

Gardenhire's major league career: Banjo hitting, futility infielder who couldn't lick it.
Rick Anderson's major league career: Strikethrower who never made it happen with his sub 90's fastball.

Bases juiced with nobody out?

All we can scratch is one run? Still lacking the fortitude to take things to the next level. Can’t keep the Yankees in the game. They showed no mercy last night versus 88 mph fastball Guerrier.

with the “motivational” poster.

by Neil on Aug 13, 2008 3:26 PM EDT up reply actions

that is awsome

and Punto can only succeed when someone fails for him

punto on 1st

and then is thrown out

he’s worthless

I-Rod

singles on Breslow’s first pitch.

Do you think

Neshek strains his shoulder watching these 8th innings and throwing things at the TV?

by Neil on Aug 13, 2008 3:38 PM EDT up reply actions

runners on 1st and 2nd

no outs… ah geez

oh and the Yankee pitcher who came out and started the longest half inning in awhile… yeah he walked off limping buuuuut the Yankees just said he came out w/ a sore shoulder, sooooo why was he limping???

b/c nothing was wrong w/ him other than pitching like crap

by caluofmn on Aug 13, 2008 3:41 PM EDT reply actions

GOT HIM!!

Nice pitching, Reyes!!

I’m going to send him some gift cards for Krispy Kreme.

There's a first for everything

This is the first time ever that I have prayed for A-Rod to prove his “unclutchiness”.

by PhoenixV on Aug 13, 2008 3:49 PM EDT up reply actions

Just guessing

but could Mauer have blocked the ball?

by Alexi Casilla All-Star on Aug 13, 2008 3:49 PM EDT reply actions

I think

he could have done a better job at it…..

by BCTwins on Aug 13, 2008 3:50 PM EDT up reply actions

not exactly

he struck out Sexson and got Damon out and I believe Mauer could have at least blocked that pitch and kept Rod from scoring

by BCTwins on Aug 13, 2008 3:51 PM EDT up reply actions

I blame Reyes for throwing it in the dirt.

He knows the situation, keep it in the air. And it was charged as a WP, not a passed ball.

by Jesse on Aug 13, 2008 3:52 PM EDT up reply actions

Mauer hasn’t exactly been a rock defensively lately.

by nathaneide on Aug 13, 2008 3:50 PM EDT reply actions

I agree

I have to watch out of town broadcasts when the Twins are away. I’ve noticed announcers have been calling him out for half-assing blocking pitches recently.

Single

With Abreu off at the crack of the bat, a single to right could have scored 2.

by Zathras on Aug 13, 2008 4:00 PM EDT up reply actions

that WP should have been blocked

right between the wickets of Mauer…5 hole!!!!

by BCTwins on Aug 13, 2008 3:52 PM EDT reply actions

Let's face it

The Twins will throw the kitchen sink in here to hold the Yankees, believing if they take the lead into the ninth, they will win. It is the right call, but it will backfire if they go extra innings. IMHO, it would be worse to go extra innings than lose.

by Alexi Casilla All-Star on Aug 13, 2008 3:52 PM EDT reply actions

And Aaron Gleeman has to delete his draft of tomorrow’s entry and why Nathan should have been pitching to A-Rod.

Looking at the look on Gardys face

I dont think he was too happy with the way that Mauer “blocked” that pitch. I mean Mauer is a pro catcher and should have learned in high school that you dont let anything get in the 5 hole

by BCTwins on Aug 13, 2008 3:55 PM EDT reply actions

He should have gotten the glove down

He called for the pitch in the dirt. He should have been ready for it. Oh well, atonement…

Wooo another fun game. Glad we were on the winning side this time.

Nice to see Delmon heating up, and Slowey gave us just what we needed.

Even better news: We don’t have to play the Yankees any more this season.
