well I showed them by actually being 1st
in an overflow thread so actually I’m no where near 1st….
ok, my head hurts now
Punt
How many words can we make with that? I like the one that rhymes with the powdered breakfast drink used by astronauts.

Maybe I play too much facebook scrabble
I can't believe MLB is still doing this
Look at the video section of the front page of MLB.com. “All eyes were on Josh Hamilton at the Home Run Derby.” Give at least some credit to Jason Justin Morneau, darn it!!
C'mon Buscher
The team needs at least one insurance run!

Just our luck
When we have a fast-paced game where our pitcher can go 7 or more, we have this kind of delay. What do you think the chances are that Slowey comes back out after this break?
Damon's arm
ha ha Damon! You throw like a girl.

I'd walk Ruiz to face Punto personally
Gardenhire's major league career: Banjo hitting, futility infielder who couldn't lick it.
Rick Anderson's major league career: Strikethrower who never made it happen with his sub 90's fastball.
Really gives a new definition to living vicariously through other people, don't it?
Bases juiced with nobody out?
All we can scratch is one run? Still lacking the fortitude to take things to the next level. Can’t keep the Yankees in the game. They showed no mercy last night versus 88 mph fastball Guerrier.

If that's the RISP "luck" correcting itself
I’ll take it
Haha
Sorry. Dang Arizona school board chooses to start school in early August. A travesty, to be honest with you.

that is awsome
and Punto can only succeed when someone fails for him
punto on 1st
and then is thrown out
he’s worthless
Biggest inning yet
Just need to get the ball to Joe.

runners on 1st and 2nd
no outs… ah geez
oh and the Yankee pitcher who came out and started the longest half inning in awhile… yeah he walked off limping buuuuut the Yankees just said he came out w/ a sore shoulder, sooooo why was he limping???
b/c nothing was wrong w/ him other than pitching like crap
There's a first for everything
This is the first time ever that I have prayed for A-Rod to prove his “unclutchiness”.
Just guessing
but could Mauer have blocked the ball?
by Alexi Casilla All-Star on Aug 13, 2008 3:49 PM EDT reply actions
not exactly
he struck out Sexson and got Damon out and I believe Mauer could have at least blocked that pitch and kept Rod from scoring
I blame Reyes for throwing it in the dirt.
He knows the situation, keep it in the air. And it was charged as a WP, not a passed ball.
I agree
I have to watch out of town broadcasts when the Twins are away. I’ve noticed announcers have been calling him out for half-assing blocking pitches recently.
Hight thing finally getting to him?

Haven't we learned from yesterday?
Maybe using your entire bullpen in 1 inning isn’t such a great idea

You don't "learn" in baseball.
You just “know”.
Would you rather
Have Dennys give up a tater to Rodriguez?
Reyes
Actually is pretty solid when it comes to keeping guys in the park

Let's face it
The Twins will throw the kitchen sink in here to hold the Yankees, believing if they take the lead into the ninth, they will win. It is the right call, but it will backfire if they go extra innings. IMHO, it would be worse to go extra innings than lose.

UNCLUTCH!
And Aaron Gleeman has to delete his draft of tomorrow’s entry and why Nathan should have been pitching to A-Rod.
Any word on relief for the bullpen coming soon?
Bass going away?
Somebody coming up?
Guerrier to the DL?

Looking at the look on Gardys face
I dont think he was too happy with the way that Mauer “blocked” that pitch. I mean Mauer is a pro catcher and should have learned in high school that you dont let anything get in the 5 hole
He should have gotten the glove down
He called for the pitch in the dirt. He should have been ready for it. Oh well, atonement…

definetely pressing and trying to be the hero every time he’s at the plate, all he had to do was keep the rally going

I was wondering
how you can punch someone over the internet? It would be hard to enforce. Maybe a temp ban for talking during a jinx
C'mon Joe!
that’s better

Goodbye Yankees
Please put a hurt on the White Sox in late September
lets all cheer for the Royals tonight...
offday tomorrow and they will be playing…they win tonight and tomorrow we are 1 game out. If they lose tonight and win tomorrow we are tired…or maybe KC could just win tonight and tomorrow and put us 1 game over
Good Game
not too many runs but enough to get Slowey the win and the BIG HURT had the biggest hit for the Twinkies
Wooo another fun game. Glad we were on the winning side this time.
Nice to see Delmon heating up, and Slowey gave us just what we needed.
Even better news: We don’t have to play the Yankees any more this season.
