Bert on Gomez

Bert on the 9.10 broadcast, comparing Carlos Gomez to Rickey Henderson (paraphrase): He [Gomez] reminds me a lot of Rickey Henderson. I mean, what kind of hitter was Rickey when he was 22? He thought he could be a power hitter at first, you know...

There are so many things wrong with this, but I'll just post this from B-R:

Funny stuff

I could listen to those two goof-balls on the radio all day. They never cease to amuse me.

That's just terrific

Thanks for sharing this with those of us who didn’t catch the game! This is probably the most erroneous statement Bert has ever uttered, even counting his supposedly weak answers in California Math Class.

Curtis Granderson

I’m not sure if it was talk radio or one of Dick or Bert commenting but I also heard a Curtis Granderson comparison somewhere. I’d love for this to happen and if you look at how he used to strikeout it’s not the worst comp in the world especially when you consider he didn’t play a full season until his age 24 season. Still, it’s kind of hard to start throwing out comparisons like that when Gomez is hitting the way he is.

Ricky Henderson? What the hell was Bert smoking? I’m surprised he didn’t say it and the immediately let out a "I F$ked that up, F$K!!!!!

Peyton's good but have you ever heard of Jeff George?
