Morneau with a big RBI double

but the Royals have tied it. End of two innings, 1-1 tie.

Lirianos line through two:

2 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 2 SO, 32 pitches

Reddog drives a hit

past Callaspo for the second hit for the Twins

and the Busch is up with his mighty RBI bat!

Buscher lines a hit

off the glove off Duckworth. That ball was hit HARD! He wasnt going to miss a changeup twice in a row….

Punto taps one to second

and his only play is to first to get Punto….one out

Gomez lines a base hit

and Reddog scores! GOMEZ!!!! 44 RBI for the young man! and of course he could pick up his 32 SB now too!

Gomez is picked off

but he slid in safely but he is called out.

by 33MorneauMVP on Sep 11, 2008 1:44 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

it was a blown call by the umpire

the umpire just decided to call him out even though he wasnt tagged when he tried to get back to the base when he overslid it

Umpire giving a few inches

on the outside corner to lefties today, no question. All 3 Ks (Morneau, Kubel, Span) have been out there.

Liriano not sharp?

I’m “watching” on Yahoo GameChannel and it looks like they’ve hit the ball hard off of him.

Now Aviles with a triple

Definitely not vintage Liriano so far.

by Alexi Casilla All-Star on Sep 11, 2008 1:52 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

bad play by Span

he tried to make it flashy and ended up misplaying it. Tried to make an overthehead catch and fell down….instead of just playing it off the wall.

Shealy Ks

German flies out to Span
and Teahan says Goodnight after saying Morning and Afternoon!

4 KS for Liriano through 4 IP

Callaspo

grounds out to the Busch…

DeJesus grounds out to Busch

nice play too….backhanded it, squared up and made a strong throw across…..

Made it....

Lets get some runs….

Liriano Ks Olivo

Liriano has retired 11 consecutive batters….

by 33MorneauMVP on Sep 11, 2008 2:32 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Another quick inning for Liriano

I’m liking this…I’d like it more if some runs are scored

by LonghornedTwin on Sep 11, 2008 2:33 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Yes, now it starts...

For pity sakes, this is Brandon “Ducky” Duckworth we are facing. Lets get some runs.

by Beerbear on Sep 11, 2008 2:36 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Dazzle just said Mauer runs well

Which normally, I agree with… but this is the time of year where Joe will really start to feel those innings behind the plate. We were at the game, and when he grounded out last night, he wasn’t pushing it any harder than he had to. Had a little hitch in his giddy up.

Mahay K

If that wasn’t so fun to say I’d be mad.

by Neil on Sep 11, 2008 2:41 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Wow

I don’t know if that was genius or madness for Mahay to go to third, but it sure worked.

Redmond and Buscher

Need a hit or two from those guys.

Liriano Ks Shealy

HE GONE!!

12 consecutive….

by 33MorneauMVP on Sep 11, 2008 2:44 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I can dig the left vs. right thing...

But Buscher was 1-1 with two walks.. he’s obviously seeing the ball well today.

Roy Smalley says

that Gomez should work on using the whole field. Good point—how many gappers to Right Center has he hit? It would be an automatic triple every time, but I recall only one or two.

Send Punto?

Versus the strong armed Olivo with a lefty throwing? Actually, I think not.

Lexi was golden in these situations

Right after his recall. Lately, not so much.

Can someone PLEASE

Tell Gordo how to pronounce DeJesus.

Kubel grounds out to Callaspo

we REALLY need a big hit here Redmond!!!!!

by 33MorneauMVP on Sep 11, 2008 3:09 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Way to go Joe....

Now, I want a walkoff run… I am not picky any run will do.

Nathan

Does not have a win yet this year. if Francisco can’t get it, let’s make sure Nathan does.

Bleh.

And bleh.

Except T-ball teams score runs…

by LonghornedTwin on Sep 11, 2008 3:29 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

why

was this so damn predictable?

by Zathras on Sep 11, 2008 3:37 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Dennis Reyes

Is pretty worthless.

by Neil on Sep 11, 2008 3:37 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Great.

Now we get their one good pitcher, Soria.

by Neil on Sep 11, 2008 3:37 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

That didn't last long... DR must be our designated run man.

and now Crain…. don’t we have anyone else. where is the Kman?

by Beerbear on Sep 11, 2008 3:38 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

This isn't a negative comment, it's just observational...

But if the Twins can’t win games like this, they really don’t deserve to be in the playoffs.

by Neil on Sep 11, 2008 3:41 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Reyes

He really has been pretty good against lefties. When he fails, though, it is out there in front of everybody.

by Alexi Casilla All-Star on Sep 11, 2008 3:47 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Casilla

All right, let’s not make it 0-5…. please?

by Zathras on Sep 11, 2008 3:48 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Jesus boys, get some hits. Good god.

by nathaneide on Sep 11, 2008 3:54 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Thats the game folks...

Our offense was bad but our bullpen was worse. This is like a broken record but when you run the same pitchers out there game after game this crap is going to happen. We aren’t a playoff caliber team yet. It was good to see Nathan back in good form. Lets go stomp some birdies….

by Beerbear on Sep 11, 2008 3:55 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Guerrier, Crain

How many games is Gardy gonna let them blow. At some point don’t you just say what the hell and try somebody else. Cant hurt to give Korecky or Humber a shot in a situation like the 10th inning. I hope Neshek is healthy next season

by .mnqwerd on Sep 11, 2008 3:57 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Well even playoff teams can't sweep terrible teams all the time

At least we took 2 out of 3. Let’s win the next one and the one after that and keep hoping.
