Top of the 4th...

…Twins up 4-1…

Kubel and Morneau have doubled, and along with Buscher have an RBI. Span hit his fifth homer of the year.

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 6:09 PM EDT reply actions

Yikes.

Oh. My. God.

I think I just threw up a little, in the back of my mouth.

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 6:25 PM EDT up reply actions

I'd say

Guess it’s good we didn’t add him to the 40-man last off-season and let him go in the Rule 5.

by Twins Territory on Sep 13, 2008 6:27 PM EDT up reply actions

At the very least.

If that’s true…what a freak.

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 6:28 PM EDT up reply actions

Morneau: 2-for-2, BB

Justin’s having a good afternoon so far…

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 6:26 PM EDT reply actions

Hopefully

it’ll carry into the night as well.

by Twins Territory on Sep 13, 2008 6:27 PM EDT up reply actions

Wow.

Gameday showed Kubel’s ball left the yard…did they rob him of a home run??

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 6:27 PM EDT reply actions

I'm not watching it tonight.

I should be, but I’m watching a movie in bed with the girl…so, no sound…

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 6:30 PM EDT up reply actions

c'mon Baker

let’s be a little more efficient in the strike zone.

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 6:31 PM EDT reply actions

Another good start today for Baker.

Looking at his pitch count, he should be able to cruise through six. If he can make it a short inning, we could see him go seven.

I’m crossing my fingers.

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 6:38 PM EDT reply actions

Especially

with a double-header today. Lets save the bullpen. At the same time, there is talk about him starting on Wednesday now that the rotation is messed up.

by Twins Territory on Sep 13, 2008 6:41 PM EDT up reply actions

Punto walks

and here comes Go-Go….

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 6:40 PM EDT reply actions

Atta boy LNP!

Nicky works a one-out walk.

Move him around, Carlos…

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 6:40 PM EDT reply actions

alright why is Cuddyer

STILL listed as a 3B on MLB Gameday????

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 6:45 PM EDT reply actions

some guys we HAVE not seen in a while:

1. Everett – what has happened to him?
2. Ruiz – what in the world happened to him? I havent seen him since….was it Seattle?
3. Harris – ph sometimes but hasnt played in a while…….

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 6:46 PM EDT up reply actions

Should see

two of them tonight. I think we’ll see Ruiz at first with Morneau at DH and Harris possibly at third.

by Twins Territory on Sep 13, 2008 6:47 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah

I heard he was taking grounders there this past week…

by Twins Territory on Sep 13, 2008 6:49 PM EDT up reply actions

True.

Everett got a PA on Sept 5…that was over a week ago.

Ruiz last started on the 2nd, then had one PA on the 4th.

Harris made an appearance a couple of days ago, but he’s only played twice this month.

Interesting…

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 6:51 PM EDT up reply actions

Brian Burres

27 years old, lots of walks. Strikeout pitcher in the minors, hasn’t translated to the majors. Hitters see his stuff pretty well.

Fastball (88), slider, curve, change.

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 6:46 PM EDT reply actions

Span!!!

Span interferes and thus it is a DP.

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 6:50 PM EDT reply actions

the umpire called interference on Span

when Casilla hit a little tapper to Roberts. Span interfered with Fahey thus Casilla was safe at first but he was then called out because of Spans interference.

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 6:54 PM EDT up reply actions

So many

missed opportunities today. We better cap this off…

by Twins Territory on Sep 13, 2008 6:51 PM EDT reply actions

agree

this team needs to lock down as many wins as possible, especially against a team like b-more.

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 6:57 PM EDT up reply actions

And

we have seven tough ones in a row with Tampa Bay and Chicago next week.

by Twins Territory on Sep 13, 2008 6:59 PM EDT up reply actions

almost a DP there

but Scott just beat it out…what a nice play by Punto to flip it but even nicer play by Casilla to step on the bag and then leap over the runner and throw…just not in time though

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 6:57 PM EDT reply actions

94 Pitches

after six. Will they let him go out for the seventh?

by Twins Territory on Sep 13, 2008 6:58 PM EDT reply actions

Somehow I doubt it.

So basically, I’d love the offense to pound out as many runs as possible right now.

I’d settle for another four.

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 7:00 PM EDT up reply actions

Another

RBI double for Morneau (122). How close was that to going out? The first one hit the top of the wall in right.

by Twins Territory on Sep 13, 2008 7:03 PM EDT reply actions

Didn't see it,

but that was his 44th double of the year.

Know what? I’ll take Justin hitting 25 HR’s a year instead of 30 if he’ll hit FIFTY DOUBLES.

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 7:04 PM EDT up reply actions

Me too

plus he has a sweet average and 122 RBI isn’t bad :)

by Twins Territory on Sep 13, 2008 7:05 PM EDT up reply actions

Double headers today:

MIN @ BAL
ATL @ NYM
KC @ CLE
TOR @ BOS
TB @ NYY
DET @ CHW (ppd)

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 7:03 PM EDT reply actions

White Sox

will try to play two tomorrow, but it sounds that even those could be in question. They only have one more off-day before the end of the season. What if they have to play them after the season and it would decide the race?

by Twins Territory on Sep 13, 2008 7:05 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm hoping for

the Twins to be a game or two up next week when they head home and have a chance to extend/clinch it in that series.

We’ll see…

by Twins Territory on Sep 13, 2008 7:06 PM EDT up reply actions

He's available...

…I wonder if he’ll get a start in game two.

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 7:07 PM EDT up reply actions

Hes not Availible to start, Only Pinch Hits.

by Tony_O on Sep 13, 2008 7:07 PM EDT up reply actions

Joe C.

said he won’t start, and that he can only pinch hit for now. He can run 80%. I think this is more of a move to get him on the playoff roster if he is ready and they make it. Isn’t that deadline soon?

by Twins Territory on Sep 13, 2008 7:08 PM EDT up reply actions

The deadline was Sept. 1,

but with injuries you can work some things around. If the Twins make the playoffs, they’ll find a way to get him on the roster.

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 7:09 PM EDT up reply actions

Morneau

with that RBI, is now at 122 RBI’s 2 Behind Josh Hamilton for the AL Lead, hes going to pass him up…Why? Because hes Justin Freaking Morneau!

And the Game is Now on FSN North for all you twins Rubes that were worried about the Game not being on.

by Tony_O on Sep 13, 2008 7:06 PM EDT reply actions

Few of my friends

Kept Calling and Calling going Dude, Where the Fucks the game, i was like Chill out man, Its on at 6, dont worry

by Tony_O on Sep 13, 2008 7:07 PM EDT up reply actions

Hahaha....

….gotta love being the one your friends go to to get the info.

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 7:08 PM EDT up reply actions

Nah, leave it to Span.

Keep Cuddles to hit for Punto or Harris later if necessary.

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 7:12 PM EDT up reply actions

Haha...

yeah…took me a second to figure that out. For some reason I thought Harris was hitting for Gomez…

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 7:15 PM EDT up reply actions

Harris: BB'd

4 straight pitches.

Bases juiced for the Spanster.

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 7:10 PM EDT reply actions

Dammit Span!

Hard to bitch about a 3-run inning, but Span was up 2-0 on a guy who is clearly having issues with the strike zone. Even with that six run lead, I’m thinking “take…take…take…take…”

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 7:18 PM EDT reply actions

Span has suddenly dropped off the table

he no longer kills anybody anymore…so I think all these people bitching about how Span should have started the season with the Twins with Gomez in AAA should just shut up.

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 7:19 PM EDT up reply actions

Right boys I'm out for the night...

…catch you at the recap after the second game.

Starting tomorrow I’m doing positional prospect lists. Enjoy the rest of your Saturday everyone!

by Jesse on Sep 13, 2008 7:19 PM EDT reply actions

pip pip Jesse

May the Twins win both games!

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 7:20 PM EDT up reply actions

Roberts singles

advances to second on a WP…

come on Boof! Time to get your ERA under 6!!!

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 7:24 PM EDT reply actions

Yikes

That was a Wicked Bounce

by Tony_O on Sep 13, 2008 7:34 PM EDT reply actions

that was.....

I would hate to have been down there (I play 1B)

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 7:34 PM EDT up reply actions

Morneau singles

on a bad hop grounder to Millar

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 7:34 PM EDT reply actions

why the Hell are they Warming up Guardado

At Least Pitch Jose Mijares, you called the guy, let him pitch an inning for gods sake.

by Tony_O on Sep 13, 2008 7:34 PM EDT reply actions

yeah of all the new guys

Mijares and Jorgesen are the only guys who havent had an opportunity yet.

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 7:37 PM EDT up reply actions

i see Jorgenson Catching tonight

With Mauer getting the second game off.

by Tony_O on Sep 13, 2008 7:38 PM EDT up reply actions

ah ok...

it will be interesting to see what this kid has

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 7:38 PM EDT up reply actions

I would think with Delmon hurting

that they would sit him too in the Game 2. I am actually surprised that he is batting here.

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 7:43 PM EDT reply actions

Delmon singles to CF

and now Punto is the only starter without a hit.

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 7:45 PM EDT reply actions

Pridie

comes on to pinch-run for Delmon now that he is on second

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 7:48 PM EDT up reply actions

Harris walks

and now the Os have given us 10 BBs…and we arent exactly the most patient team either.

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 7:47 PM EDT reply actions

Hey guys

Just got back. Tell me, why was Baker taken out after six? Please tell me it was a high pitch count and not Gardy being Gardy.

by Andersklasen on Sep 13, 2008 7:47 PM EDT reply actions

and now Punto gets his hit

and all the starters have hits!!! Infield single

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 7:49 PM EDT reply actions

alright who plays next game?

Jorgensen – C, Harris – 1B, Macri – 3B, Pridie – LF

or

Jorgensen – C, Ruiz – 1B, Harris/Macri – 3B, Pridie – LF

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 7:54 PM EDT reply actions

oh also put Everett at SS

basically playing our reserves in the second game.

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 8:00 PM EDT up reply actions

Cuddyer bounces out.....

good AB though for first AB since July

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 7:57 PM EDT reply actions

Ruiz phs for Mauer

Jorgensen will come on to catch now.

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 7:58 PM EDT reply actions

Morneau!!!

can you get your 5 hit? no as he flies out….

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 7:59 PM EDT reply actions

any chance Mijares can win the CY Young?

he has a 0.00 ERA! that should be good enough for him to win the CY Young. :)

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 8:10 PM EDT up reply actions

or math is accurate

.5000000000000000 games out! Not .54 games out….but .500000000 games out!!!!

haha

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 8:11 PM EDT up reply actions

hopefully the bats continue though

we have seen way to many of these games…blowout in the first game and then they only score 1-2 runs in the next game…so hopefully tonight they will be score some runs again!

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 8:19 PM EDT up reply actions

I think

Redmond will play and Buscher will get the game off. Other than that, I think we’ll see mostly starters.

by Twins Territory on Sep 13, 2008 8:21 PM EDT reply actions

it will be Jorgensen catching

Gardy has confirmed it (at least that is what Joe C is saying)

by BCTwins on Sep 13, 2008 8:23 PM EDT up reply actions

Interesting

Not bad, but I thought he’d go with Red Dog. Doesn’t seem like he has played in a while.

by Twins Territory on Sep 13, 2008 8:25 PM EDT up reply actions

Another note...

…the White Sox were setting up their rotation so that Buherle, Vazquez and Danks would pitch in the what could be critical series next week. Those plans might not be in place now…
