Top of the 4th...
…Twins up 4-1…
Kubel and Morneau have doubled, and along with Buscher have an RBI. Span hit his fifth homer of the year.
I'd say
Guess it’s good we didn’t add him to the 40-man last off-season and let him go in the Rule 5.

Hopefully
it’ll carry into the night as well.

WOW
from GameDay, that ball looked like it was a few feet short from a 3-run bomb.

I'm not watching it tonight.
I should be, but I’m watching a movie in bed with the girl…so, no sound…
Another good start today for Baker.
Looking at his pitch count, he should be able to cruise through six. If he can make it a short inning, we could see him go seven.
I’m crossing my fingers.
Especially
with a double-header today. Lets save the bullpen. At the same time, there is talk about him starting on Wednesday now that the rotation is messed up.

4 Walks
for Cabrera today. Now I see how he has more walks than the entire Twins staff.

Looks like Cabrera's losing a bit of command here.
Not that he’s had much all day. He’s already just about to hit 100 pitches!
some guys we HAVE not seen in a while:
1. Everett – what has happened to him?
2. Ruiz – what in the world happened to him? I havent seen him since….was it Seattle?
3. Harris – ph sometimes but hasnt played in a while…….
Should see
two of them tonight. I think we’ll see Ruiz at first with Morneau at DH and Harris possibly at third.

Yeah
I heard he was taking grounders there this past week…

Brian Burres
27 years old, lots of walks. Strikeout pitcher in the minors, hasn’t translated to the majors. Hitters see his stuff pretty well.
Fastball (88), slider, curve, change.
the umpire called interference on Span
when Casilla hit a little tapper to Roberts. Span interfered with Fahey thus Casilla was safe at first but he was then called out because of Spans interference.
So many
missed opportunities today. We better cap this off…

And
we have seven tough ones in a row with Tampa Bay and Chicago next week.
by Twins Territory on Sep 13, 2008 6:59 PM EDT up reply actions
almost a DP there
but Scott just beat it out…what a nice play by Punto to flip it but even nicer play by Casilla to step on the bag and then leap over the runner and throw…just not in time though
94 Pitches
after six. Will they let him go out for the seventh?

Somehow I doubt it.
So basically, I’d love the offense to pound out as many runs as possible right now.
I’d settle for another four.
Another
RBI double for Morneau (122). How close was that to going out? The first one hit the top of the wall in right.

Didn't see it,
but that was his 44th double of the year.
Know what? I’ll take Justin hitting 25 HR’s a year instead of 30 if he’ll hit FIFTY DOUBLES.
Me too
plus he has a sweet average and 122 RBI isn’t bad :)

White Sox
will try to play two tomorrow, but it sounds that even those could be in question. They only have one more off-day before the end of the season. What if they have to play them after the season and it would decide the race?

I'm hoping for
the Twins to be a game or two up next week when they head home and have a chance to extend/clinch it in that series.
We’ll see…

Joe C.
said he won’t start, and that he can only pinch hit for now. He can run 80%. I think this is more of a move to get him on the playoff roster if he is ready and they make it. Isn’t that deadline soon?
by Twins Territory on Sep 13, 2008 7:08 PM EDT up reply actions
The deadline was Sept. 1,
but with injuries you can work some things around. If the Twins make the playoffs, they’ll find a way to get him on the roster.
Morneau
with that RBI, is now at 122 RBI’s 2 Behind Josh Hamilton for the AL Lead, hes going to pass him up…Why? Because hes Justin Freaking Morneau!
And the Game is Now on FSN North for all you twins Rubes that were worried about the Game not being on.
Few of my friends
Kept Calling and Calling going Dude, Where the Fucks the game, i was like Chill out man, Its on at 6, dont worry
I wanted to see Cuddyer...
..oh well.

Dammit Span!
Hard to bitch about a 3-run inning, but Span was up 2-0 on a guy who is clearly having issues with the strike zone. Even with that six run lead, I’m thinking “take…take…take…take…”
Span has suddenly dropped off the table
he no longer kills anybody anymore…so I think all these people bitching about how Span should have started the season with the Twins with Gomez in AAA should just shut up.
Right boys I'm out for the night...
…catch you at the recap after the second game.
Starting tomorrow I’m doing positional prospect lists. Enjoy the rest of your Saturday everyone!
why the Hell are they Warming up Guardado
At Least Pitch Jose Mijares, you called the guy, let him pitch an inning for gods sake.
I would think with Delmon hurting
that they would sit him too in the Game 2. I am actually surprised that he is batting here.
Hey guys
Just got back. Tell me, why was Baker taken out after six? Please tell me it was a high pitch count and not Gardy being Gardy.

alright who plays next game?
Jorgensen – C, Harris – 1B, Macri – 3B, Pridie – LF
or
Jorgensen – C, Ruiz – 1B, Harris/Macri – 3B, Pridie – LF
No way. Gardy actually trusts Mijares with a 10-run lead?
This isn’t the minor leagues, Gardy. Leads like that can vanish before you know what’s going on.

any chance Mijares can win the CY Young?
he has a 0.00 ERA! that should be good enough for him to win the CY Young. :)
or math is accurate
.5000000000000000 games out! Not .54 games out….but .500000000 games out!!!!
haha
hopefully the bats continue though
we have seen way to many of these games…blowout in the first game and then they only score 1-2 runs in the next game…so hopefully tonight they will be score some runs again!
I think
Redmond will play and Buscher will get the game off. Other than that, I think we’ll see mostly starters.

Interesting
Not bad, but I thought he’d go with Red Dog. Doesn’t seem like he has played in a while.

Another note...
…the White Sox were setting up their rotation so that Buherle, Vazquez and Danks would pitch in the what could be critical series next week. Those plans might not be in place now…
