I think Delmon should have gotten the day off
he has been really hobbling around on that ankle of his.

I am not saying he should have caught the ball....
but Young did not get back to the fence and didn’t get a chance to leap and catch the ball.

2 2-run jobs
The team will really need to rally.

So far
This game is a real stinker. Blackburn has given up more homers than the Twins have hits.

Of course they are losing
their tied for 1st place
this team has the mental strength of a 2 yr old

do you really believe
that they play differently because of the fact that they are in first place?
I have trouble believing that. Next thing, you’ll be explaining how the problem is the lack of veterans on the team, like Mike Lamb and Livan Hernandez. Those guys have experienced playoff runs, so they wouldhn’t be afraid of being in first place.
Not trying to be super sarcastic, but I just don’t believe that athletes play changes one day to the next based on standings. Its not like they feel that this game is any less important than yesterday’s.

you've made some assumptions there
and to be brief, yes, they have shown all 2nd half of this season that they can not win with the opportunity of taking 1st place or keeping it
I won’t guess the “why” of it and stick w/ the facts that the results have proven to be correct
next time do us both a favor and stick to facts, my comment may seem like an assumption until you look at the results in games like today…
When the Twins are in first place they lose, who cares why but I chalk it up to mental toughness, what’s your excuse for these results????

wow, that was a poorly written post
let me try again…
Short answer is still Yes, I do think they play differently when they are in 1st place
I don’t need you to put words in my mouth, I never said anything about needing veterans. I was very clear on why I feel the Twins can’t win when they are in 1st place (mental toughness)
The Twins may not feel today’s game is any less important and they may try to play just as well but the record shows they are unable to do it. They seem to be unable to win when they have a chance to take 1st place for themselves. They seem to be unable to execute on those games, they seem to lack the mental toughness to win those games. While the “why” can be argued, The record can’t be argued on these games.
If you have another reason why the Twins have been unable to win these games then I would love to read it.
But again, I think it is due to lack of metal toughness. (no need for vets, in case that isn’t clear enough)

Gary Gaetti said it best when...
the Twins simply needed to beat the lowly Cleveland Indians (who were truly lowly in those days), to take first place. Gaetti threw an easy ground ball into the stands to insure a huge Indian rally would beat the Twins, and said, “You can’t throw to first when your hands are around your neck.” So maybe there is something psychological here.
"I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. See, my mule don't like people laughing. He gets the crazy idea you're laughing at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it . . ."

what just happened?
Gameday just confused the hell out of me, but it sounds like LNP did something stupid that turned a regular force out into a double play.
Please fill me in.

Well done Blackburn...
…Im glad to see that today was your day to throw BP!
Oh, and the hitters think that the 24 runs yesterday makes up for their horrid at-bats today.

Shit!
Why can’t we seal any sweeps? KC and this might bite us in the end. What’s worse is that the starters (Blackburn and Perkins) both looked like crap.

White Sox
will win the first game it looks like, so we’re back one game and it could go to a game and a half if they win tonight.
