Around SBN: MLB Trade Deadline: Phils, Astros complete Roy Oswalt deal

Tomorrow is another day!

Great line by the Hawk on the Sox / Indians game on WGN tonight: " Minnesota keeps trying to die and we keep giving them CPR."  That happened again tonight as Cleveland pulled our tails out of the ashes and left us with a chance to not only make the playoffs but clinch tomorrow!  All we need to do is win and we at least get to play the Sucks for the right to go on.  But if we can win tomorrow, the pressure is on the Sucks to win both games just to force the game Tuesday.  Who could believe we could lose two to KC and still be in the drivers seat but we are!  I will be cheering on the Twins tomorrow and hoping Cleveland can do us a favor and put Chicago out of the post-season.  See you tomorrow!

Yup, we still have it.

We just need a win. One lousy win over a team that hasn’t had a winning season in years. Come on guys we aren’t playing the Yankees… beat these bluebloods and lets get on with it. GO TWINS…

Just a win

won’t get us to the playoffs. We might need to play the White Sox as well. A win will ensure us of nothing worse than a tie, but then we’ll likely be in Chicago on Tuesday. Lets hope I’m wrong and the Indians can sweep the White Sox today along with a Scott Baker victory.

Hawk

Safe to say that had the Twins gone after Hawkins rather than Eddie that they would have had an arm – and a division lead – that was more useful. Hawk has been a factor in reviving the Astros. 1 earned run in 23 games. Meanwhile, Eddie hasn’t even been in 10 games for the Twins. Despite the vampire-like lifespan of most lefthanders in this game, looks like Eddie’s career will have a stake in it soon.
