Hey all...before this insanely huge game, I figured I would throw out a little fun challenege. Please comment with your post-game comment "predictions." Don't forget to do one for a win, and one for a loss. Think of it as a "buzzword bingo" type game.

Here are mine-

In case of a win: "We always believed in ourselves. Never once did we have any doubts. Not once. That was a heck of a ballclub over there, and they should be very happy with their season. We are fortunate to come out on top, and now we need to focus on Tampa Bay."

In case of a loss: "We battled out there. Gave it our all, and came up short. That's baseball. But overall, Im very proud of these guys...afterall, we were supposed to be horrible remember? After the offseason of losing Torii and Johan, we all were told we would be in the cellar. Have a long offseason ahead, but I couldn't be prouder."

Lets see it Twinkie Towners!

Should I be assuming these are supposed to be Gardy quotes?

I can do that.

For a win: “Boy, that was one heckuva game, and you’ve gotta tip your hat to Chicago. They’re a great team and they’ve got some great fans, but I think we really earned this one tonight. Tell you what, we’ll enjoy the heck outta this one tonight, but tomorrow we have to get ready for Tampa Bay. They’re a great team too, and you know they’ll be hungry and coming ready to win.”

For a loss: “Well, y’know, we gave it a shot tonight and it just didn’t pan out. Gotta tip your cap to the White Sox, they came out and played their game the way they wanted to play it, and you’ve gotta wish ‘em good luck. It’s disappointing because we thought we’d be able to pull this one out, but that’s just the way the game goes.”

Charly Walters

Read the column’ Overheard section. Asked how Gardy would feel if he didn’t have Punto for this game: “Miserable.” What Shooter didn’t hear is Gardy saying, “I can’t quit you Nicky!”

Winner

From Michael Cuddyer—I am proud to have finally contributed to this team. Danks got a couple of balls up to me and I let it fly. Blackburn gave us a great effort, and the bullpen locked it down. A win like this can propel us a long way in the playoffs.

Loser (from Cuddyer)—That is a good club over there. We gave it everything we had for 163 games and came up short. It would have been great to play the deciding game in the dome.

Win – Yes! Tampa!
Lose – Ugh. FAIL.
