Carl Pohlad: Dead at 93
Rumors abound amongst the Twitterverse that Carl Pohlad, owner of our beloved Minnesota Twins, has died at 93. Word is Reusse told Sooch on KSTP about Pohlad's death.

Carl Pohlad, a working-poor son of the Great Depression who became one of America's wealthiest dealmakers, has died, according to sources. He was 93.
A financier who came to be best known through his 1984 acquisition of the Minnesota Twins, Pohlad also headed a family-owned network of banking, bottling, real estate and other companies.
Forbes magazine said in its annual ranking in September that Pohlad was worth an estimated $3.8 billion, the 102nd richest person in America.
Say what you want about his cheapskate ways, and whether or not the Twins would have won a couple more World Series if he would have opened the purse a bit in 2002, 2003 or 2008, but thanks to Carl Pohlad, the Twins didn't cease to exist in 1984 and brought home the only professional championships since the Lakers moved to Los Angeles.
