Picture of Bad Call
For the game on Sunday, someone should find a picture of the bad call and make thousands of copies. Then pass them out for everyone to hold up during the game. Maybe that will light a fire under our ass. We need something to get us going and not be intimated by these f'n Yankees and maybe it'll allow the umps to call the game fairly. I have a feeling we are going to respond strongly for the rest of the series, just because we are sick of being intimated and falling flat against the Yankees. Go Twins!

bad call?
I think the 17 runners left on base is the bigger crime. Sure the ball was fair, and Gomez over ran the bag, and had a bad AB at a crucial point. Joe Nathan blew the biggest save of his life. The Twins, left 17 runners on base. That is the real crime.

Gomez messed up,
Twins reverted to their regular season wisp, bases loaded, Nathan, yada, yada, yada.
All true.
That does not excuse one of the worst blown calls that I have seen in baseball in my lifetime.

Cuzzi gets paid to make fair calls. He was ten ft from the ball, it was CLEARLY not a difficult call. Cuzzi has to be held accountable.

agree
and he probably will be reprimanded by MLB, but nothing will happen.

Ozzie Guillen spot on about sCuzzi

Notice the dirt kicking up after it hit the ground.

Close up
Cuzzi was once again mired in controversy when White Sox manager Ozzie Guillén claimed Cuzzi had a vendetta against him and that “He don’t like me, I don’t like him.” Guillen’s comments were in regard to Cuzzi ejecting him after arguing balls and strikes, the second time in as many years Cuzzi has ejected Guillen for said offense.
If any Twinkie fans mocked Ozzie for his tirade about sCuzzi, they probably now agree with Ozzie now.

It's just unreal.
He has one major call to make, and blows it.
How can you miss that? He’s standing there, crouched down looking at the frickin spot. How do you miss that?!

His spin
I’d really like to hear sCuzzi’s spin on the call. I could understand a miss if it were close and/or closeby on the foulside of the line. What I mean is I’ve seen some hotly contested foul/fair calls on balls bouncing near the line on the foulside. This wasn’t close at all. Clearly fair.
I wonder if sCuzzi was watching the player and not the ball.

Even if he was watching the player...
the ball hit Cabrera’s glove in fair territory. So either way, terrible call.

You're right
Terrible call. And for anyone to compare it to the Inge (allegedly) HBP is ridiculous. The Mauer hit was clearly fair by two standards – hit the players glove in fair territory AND then landed about a foot fair. Terrible call. Absolutely terrible. I’m a White Sox fan and that one still has my saying “terrible call” over and over to myself like a madman. Terrible call…

haha, for about 2 hours after the game, I just kept saying "wow".
Just…wow.

and also
the HBP thing is starting to drive me crazy. I could not agree more that comparing the two is ridiculous, since one of them isn’t actually a bad call (the HBP, clearly).

Those pictures show...
That this can’t be taken lightly. There is NO excuse for him to miss a call like this in a major game. Some kind of punishment and apology needs to happen.

Will Cuzzi be at the Dome tonight...
… and if he is boy that should rally the Twins fans, as it should.

Actually, he will be.
I was listening to the radio yesterday and they were interviewing Tim Tschida, and he mentioned that Cuzzi will be at the game tonight. He also mentioned that he expects the fans will “have a lot to say” to Cuzzi.

he should be fired
This is not his first really really bad game changing call. How he manages to be added to umpiring crews for playoff rosters is beyond me. He’s payed a lot of money to make calls. It’s one thing if his view was obstructed or the play developed so quickly that he couldn’t be in place. It’s another to have a perfectly good view of the call and blow it, and being from that part of the country doesn’t help. MLB has to stand up for the integrity of the game. I realize no one is perfect, but doing nothing is excusing the inexcusable.

while I understand that they can all make mistakes
that is one call, when it’s your only job, that you should not blow. I’m sorry, I’m sure umpiring is difficult and thankless, and I respect that it’s hard, but that was just…really, really poor calling.

challenge – the umps first move is to get out of the way…except the replay shows that his first move was stare down the line, he had plenty of time to get into position and make the right call.

Yep
Like fischean said, really poor calling.
