Twins fans in NYC
I have read a couple of comments about being a lonely Twins fan in NY. I was curious how many people on this site live in NYC. I wish I would have thought about this earlier, but maybe next year we could try to find bar in the city to watch the big games. It was has hard being at the bar watching game 163 and being the only one cheering for the Twins. I was going nuts, basically running up and down the bar doing fists pumps like Joe Nathan after we doubled up Curtis Granderson. Anyways, I was just curious the level of interest in finding a place where Twins fans can cheer loudly amongst other Twins fans. Let me know your thoughts.

Used to live in Brooklyn
There are a ton of Twins fans in Williamsburg—coming back from Yankee Stadium after a Twins game, the Bedford stop was literally filled with twenty-somethings in Twins gear. I figure there’s always a ton of ex-pat fans in NYC of whoever is the visiting team in the Bronx but I really can’t believe that subway stops all over town are filled with fans like that after every Yankees game. My buddy’s dream is to start a Twins bar in Manhattan—add something like a purple velvet/Prince theme and Minneapolis shots like Grape Apes and Scooby Snacks and you’ve got the makings of a bar that always does all right but never does enough business to really impress people :)

Astoria, Queens
I had a similar experience to the original poster, during the ALDS. Sitting in a bar full of Yankees fans. The only way I stayed sane was by keeping up a running text-message conversation with another ex-Minnesotan who was watching in Chicago. I’d definitely love it if I had a place to watch with other Twins fans. Even if it was like the “Minnesota bar” in that one episode of How I Met Your Mother.
Weird story about Williamsburg—I go there pretty frequently and I’ve definitely never seen a crowd of Twins fans! But I guess it’s not too surprising, there are people from all over the country living there.

FYI
How I Met Your Mother might be the best show on TV; At the very least, best sitcom.

I feel for ya bud, being the only one at the Bar going for the Twins...

You need to find somebody to cheer with.

I'm in Astoria
And I’m down. Not sure how to start, but would love to stay in the loop. What area do you live in?

Right now I live in the West Village.
However, I am near the F-V Trains which run out to Astoria. Also, who knows if I will be there when next season rolls around. Right now, I would just like to see how many people we have in the city and where everyone lives. Once we get a better idea about that we can start looking for bars in a central location.

Good call.
I’m the only one I know, so it was a lonely bunch of screaming matches in my apartment. My wife luckily missed most of them.
