Twins are really
working hard on getting Joe to stay.
How would you like to win a pennant playing for your older brother someday?
This is smart.
Yeah, he's also a natural management talent
I’d like to think he earned this on his own merits.

Miracle Manager moving to New Britain...
Mauer was Manager of the Year in the GCL for a team that also plays in Fort Myers.
This is something that would have likely happened regardless of what Jake’s last name was.
Well, they could have promoted the Beloit manager to Fort Myers and Mauer to Beloit
Getting bumped up two levels says something.

Yes... getting promoted is always a good thing...
They could have promoted him only to Beloit or even just to Elizabethton. Or they could have not promoted him at all and filled the slot with someone else.
I was actually defending the move. I don’t think a move like this is done just to keep Joe happy. Guys who win Manager of the Year are in line for promotion and keeping him in Fort Myers where the team has two teams and spring training actually maintains some organizational stability.
Ft. Myers
Well, Joe and Jake do have homes in Ft. Myers. So this is a pretty go nobrainer, in some ways. Unless the Twins do have sites on Jake becoming the next big manager…I picture Jake will stay at Ft. Myers. He might become minor league coordinator in the long run. If he does move up to New Brit or Rochester, it would be as a stepping stone to the big club, but I actually think he will spend time in Ft. Myers until a coaching job in the bogs leagues open (Liddle or Ullger or White). Might still be a few years.
But I do thinik the Mauers like Ft. Myers and have enough property there that ANY of the aprties in question would love to keep it as their summer (Jake) and winter (Joe) homes.

Hall of Famers Harry & George Wright
From 1869-1878. Some of that is “pre-MLB” but everything from 1876 and on counts officially as MLB. Pretty famous pair. They won the NL pennant in 1877 and 1878. They won four NA titles from 1872-75 and they were the manager and star of the great Cincinnati teams of 1869 & 1870.
Not sure if there is anything more recent. :) I’m not certain how I would go about doing an exhaustive search.
