Game 162 (Must-win) Overflow Thread

Ok, so the Tigers just beat the Sox 5-3.  That sucks, but we can force a game 163...to be played here at the Dome, where we won't have to face Verlander.  Positives abound, folks.

Star-divide

No lineups, they weren't posted by Jesse.  You're watching the game (and if you're not...boo), figure it out.  :)

I need 75 words, so um...thanks for at least winning 2 of 3, Sox.  Really, that was most helpful.  I hope next year is better for you than this year was (that's a lie).  I hope you find that Q and Rios were worth their paycheck (also a lie).  And I really, really hope Peavy works out for you next year (biggest lie ever).

that's why I asked about the NYY above

IF and I say IF the Twins got were fortunate enough to get there, I would say Duensing was the logical choice to start Game 1

by ajmargarine on Oct 4, 2009 4:35 PM EDT up reply actions

Duensing in game 1

Baker in Game 2
Blackburn in Game 3
Pavano in Game 4

???

by Mike I on Oct 4, 2009 4:36 PM EDT up reply actions

no

duens, blckburn, pav, bake IF NEEDED

but who knows now with BD in the game and we still haven’t won this one and Tuesday may just be a golfing day for Mn, who knows, idk

Did you see that, Keppel, Mahay?

a 1-2-3 from a ‘reliever’. It can happen.

for real

he’s really proven himself this year. Couple rough outings lately, but you know what? Still better than the other 3423 pitchers we saw this year. Duensing <3.

it's called

rally fish. Found in lakes surrounding the MN Twins Territory area. Elusive, but if you catch one, quite useful.

apparently if you are forced to a play-in game you don't deserve it..

but what if it happened in the east where the teams have the best records?

team with best record has the choice...

They don’t have a game-163 if the loser would get the WC anyways

by DavidRF on Oct 4, 2009 4:45 PM EDT up reply actions

no

because 163 is supposed to be on Monday so it shouldn’t matter for a WED start, but because of the VIkings….

I guess with the off-day tomorrow there’s little worry that the ‘pen will be overworked, but I didn’t see anything wrong with letting Duensing pitch the rest of the game… this is low-leverage time.

we should defensively replace Cabrera with Harris or Casilla (with Punto to SS)

Or door #3....

If we can scoop up Cabrera for a guy in low-A who ends up hitting .230 there, then why is it so hard to find guys like him in the offseason?
