Local TV coverage for the Big Game
Sometimes in the past a local station has picked up coverage of a playoff Twins that was only on cable (like channel 5 or 45 sometimes shows ESPN games).
Does anyone know if a local TV station is picking up this game? What was the deal with game 163 with the White Sox last year? I listened on the radio but I don't recall if it was on a local station - it wasn't on one that I could see.

No local TV
Same as last year — going to be broadcast exclusively on TBS.

will this one be blacked out on MLB TV?

I don't think so
It says on the Twins’ site to watch it on mlb.tv. That is what I have, so I hope it works. I had problems with mlb.tv last year for Game 163.

I did too
I think the feed was overwhelmed last year. I have had better luck this year, and also since they got rid of silverlight.

Who doesn’t get TBS?
People who don’t have cable – like me. I don’t pay money for 200 channels of crap.

X2
Cable is too expensive. I only really watch the Twins, and live out of state.

I think they still have bars out of state
Time to head down to the sports bar – that’s why they have these things.

KFAN will have it
but the announcers will stink in comparison to Gordo and the DazzleMan.
I always loved that one.

and the TBS announcers will suck in comparison to Dick and Bert.

Really? Who is announcing?
Jon Miller usually does ESPN radio and he’s good, lots better than Gordon. Gladden isn’t hard to replace either. Gordon/Gladden is really overrated. I’d rather listen to Chris Atteberry.
Dick does a good job (I’m tired of Bert) but there are national crews just as good as Dick and Bert.

Oh yeah?
Who’s going to circle people between innings, huh? WHO?!?!?!

no one will take Dick and Bert’s place in my heart.

who is going to yell like a little school girl,
when Jason Kubel hits a Walk-off HR?

was that part of your dream as well?
I was hoping it wouldn’t come down to a walk-off situation. :\

no it wasn't.
but i just love hearing Dick get all amped up after a big hit. I still get goosebumps when I listen to Casilla’s walk-off hit last year against the Sox.

I just picture him up in that little booth
jumping up and down, waving his arms around. And then I smile, cause that’s what Dick and Bert make me do. :)

Bert is awesome!
Dick’nBert and Gordo’nDazzleman are NOT replaceable. I was so glad when TRN moved from WCCO to KSTP that they kept John and Dan on. Dazzleman>Chris Dingleberry. DJL has no idea what he is talking about.

Sorry, Gladden's a loudmouth boor
Gladden is your typical macho former jock who doesn’t really know the sport and Gordon’s more interested in fitting in the advertisements than telling the game action. Both guys were yammering on with former Twins during game 162 to the point where there were guys on 1st and 2nd for the Royals and I had no idea how they got there.
Neither guy knows anything about stats beyond AVG and RBI. Gladden’s play-by-play is awful. If he does tell you what happened it’s all after the fact and in less detail than Gamecast. Gordon’s PBP is decent but he always seems too busy chatting about nothing to do PBP. Gladden is more concerned about how a player wears his uniform (tucked in and dirty) than whether the guy wins ballgames for you.
Didn’t anyone hear listen to Herb Carneal? Neither of these guys is worth a damn in comparison. At least Atteberry tries to inform the listener about what is going on in the game. He could use some practice with his drama but otherwise I’d much rather listen to him. Give me someone who puts the game above the sound of their own voice any day.

Herb Carneal was great, I miss him
But I disagree with just about everything else you said and will leave it at that. We’re all entitled to our opinions.

Looks like Caray / Martinez for TBS
They’re serviceable, better than Buck / McCarver. I like Martinez better than Caray.

the best
the best announcer the Twins have in their stable is Kris Attebury. He calls the action most of the time, and actually gets useful information/analysis out of Gladden or Morris (or both).
Gordo still has one more year on his contract, and im sure he wanted to call games at Target Field, but I can’t see him doing the regular PBP after that. His play by play has deteriorated quickly, and he gets nothing out of Dazzle or Black Jack. Maybe he’ll have a deal like Herb did where he calls only home games or has a reduced schedule and then Attebury slides over to that PBP chair

the best announcer the Twins have in their stable is Kris Attebury.
Really? You think so? I don’t mind him, but he’s not entertaining or interesting to listen to. He’s quite fine for the role that he is in right now. That statement makes me question the rest of your opinions.
I enjoy Gladden. He’s not brilliant at play-by-play (rather the opposite) but I get a kick out of his analysis. He’s rather unflinching in his criticism sometimes – which is a bit refreshing.
Gordon is what he is. I like listening to him, but he’s not great for pronouncing names or offering keen insight. Still, he’s got a bit of the old school left in him and he gets excited. Sometimes you need that when you’ve only got the radio. You have to create a story and drama without the pictures.
Of course – for Twins announcers – no one compares with Herb. We all still miss him.
As far as other people – I think John Miller is fine. I like his voice. I also like Joe Angel from Baltimore. I hate Joe Buck. He’s bad on football and he’s a disgrace on baseball. Apparently some thing are not genetic. His dad was great. Ernie Harwell was great too.
The only remaining master of play-by-play is Vin Scully. He’s one reason to root for the Dodger in the playoffs (in the NL).

MLBTV
Has this weird postseason tv feature now where you get camera angles but it doesn’t switch. To work around this issue.
Go to the audio feed. Select TRN. Then once it has launched Change the feed and you can select TBS. It will be regular video feed.

I was very confused by that whole thing.
but yeah, how can you be a BoSox fan and a Twins fan? There seems to be a…conflict of interest.
