Metrodome Has Time for One More Miracle: Twins Win In 12

Twins 6, Tigers 5

Oh.  My.  God.

Oh my dear sweet baby Joe Jebus.

There are no words to describe this game.  There are so many heroes.  Orlando CabreraMatt Tolbert.  Bobby Keppel (yes, you read that right).  Alexi Casilla.

I'm going to leave Cmathewson to write the proper recap...but oh my god.

Oh.  My.  God.

Congrats Twins

Yankee fan here. We’ll see you tomorrow. Rest up and be ready…I am looking forward to it.

Ditto.

What a great game.

tiger fan here

it was a great game. I’m so depressed right now I could…I can’t even come up with a good metaphor.

in any case, make our defeat meaningful and beat the yankees

by corbettkt on Oct 6, 2009 9:55 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Totally agree

and very similar getting out of jams. Magglio lining into the double play felt a lot like Hrbek’s home to first DP.

Just an awesome game

so many ups and downs

Just when you thought it’d go bad, they managed to squeak out of it

I don’t think I can sleep

i had no vested interest in this game, but seriously, better lucky than good huh?

unfortunate that the game lasted so long, because now the yankees beatdown is going to be even nastier, but that was a very entertaining game

take care of the yanks, we will take care of the sox, and lets have a considerably un-douchey ALCS

I love this.

I hope to see an Angels-Twins series, too. That would be awesome.

As good games 6 and 7 world series in ’91, and that is saying a whole lot. Instant classic.

DVD

The Twins should release it on DVD. It might sell enough to pay for Mike Lamb’s salary next year.

I'm a hockey fan as well as a baseball fan

So in the fine tradition of the playoff series handshake, congratulations. You played great and managed to hunt the Tigers down from behind when no one thought you could, and that I give you all the credit in the world for that.

Now lets see how much the Yankees hate Nick Punto and the Metrodome. Good luck, ladies and gentlemen.

Nick Punto is good at pissing people off, I’m sure he’ll find a way to get on the Yankees’ nerves.

Joe Nathan is a classy guy

Did anyone else hear him talking about the Tigers?

by ckb on Oct 6, 2009 10:32 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I don't remember exactly

But he talked about how the Twins know how much it hurts to lose a tie breaker game like that and that he was sorry someone had to lose. There was the usual praise about them having a good team but you could also tell that he really meant it.

Okay...

Casilla drives in the winning run… represented by Gomez… making Keppel the winning pitcher.

I’m too lazy to actually go over and join Bless You Boys to tell the Tigers fans directly, but I would like to say that the Tigers played a hell of a game tonight, too.

Stars of the Game:

Cabrera: Go ahead 2 run homer (bad player who comes up with the biggest hits!)

Casilla: Game Winning RBI to send the Twins to the Playoffs!

Gomez: Game Scoring RBI to send the Twins to the playoffs!

Kubel: Homer, what more can I say?

Keppel: Managed to battle out of several jams thanks in part to his defense!

+ All of the Twins!!!!!
