What a Battle. What. A. Battle.
Sure, it hurts to lose that one. Hurts terribly. But that was one hell of a fight, and an absolute classic of a baseball game.
The rivalry between the Tigers and Twins is a fierce one, but I truly feel it's a friendly one. It's been a pleasure to trade notes, jabs, and chuckles with Jesse throughout the season. And I very much appreciate the Twins fans that have stopped over at Bless You Boys to offer thoughtful conversation and insight.
Congratulations. Best of luck versus the Yankees. Just wish you had a little more time to enjoy this one.

Very classy sir
You guys played one heck of a battle tonight and it could have gone either way. Of course as a Twins fan, I am happy the Twins won but I know your pain, since the Twins lost a similar game to the White Sox last year. Kudos to the Tigers for putting on the fight! This game really did determine who was the best in the Central this season!
Best of luck next season and keep the White Sox out of the postseason!

We know how it feels, man
And it sucks. Real bad.

Classic battle
The Twins and Tigers have a great rivalry – like you said, intense, but still friendly. I know it must suck for you right now. Thanks for running such a standup site and I’ll look forward to facing off with the Tigers again next season!

You are a bigger man than I...
If I were in your shoes, I would not have the class to post what you did.

Jesse did the same over at BYB tonight
So class begets class, I guess you could say.

I've enjoyed reading Bless You Boys
while we were trying to chase you down the last couple weeks of the year.
I didn’t register before you put in the 2 day waiting period for new members but I did want to I wish you guys the best. We appreciate the AL Central solidarity.

Thanks for the words.
We are all too aware of the pain game 163 can bring, but the Tigers played a hell of a game. Something to be proud of.
And like everyone else is saying, the Twins/Tigers rivalry is pretty fun, and I’m sure next year will prove to be just as much fun. :)

Thank You!
Well said. Detroit can be pround of what they did. I know that it has to hurt, but I hope that the respect is there for both combatants in this epic struggle!

I have been reading your stuff Ian, and you are fantastic.
Very solid recaps and you run BYB very well. Nice folks, fans of baseball. Thanks for stopping by. If it makes you feel any better, your rotation will be about 40 times better than ours next year:)
I always loved that one.

Epic
Deolis Guerra = Daniel Cabrera ?
I tend to think so

I second Mauer's words in the postgame interview
If the Tigers had won this game, I honestly would have wanted them to go all the way. Players like Granderson and Inge really impress me, and Porcello was the better starter tonight.
my floor is looking pretty dirty... BETTER GET OUT THE BROOM!!!

Agreed
I think Curtis Granderson and Miguel Cabrera scare me more than any other individual players in baseball when they come up to the plate (or, in the case of Granderson, when he’s on first base). My stomach turned over every time they came up.

Ordonez, too.
He was a great hitter again in the second half. Not a lot of easy outs in the Detroit lineup…so…good practice for the NYY series.

I know; I hate it every single time Mags steps to the plate. He just annihilates Twins' pitching.
