Twins Outright Brian Buscher
The Twins have outrighted Brian Buscher to Triple-A Rochester this afternoon. He can become a minor league free agent 15 days after the conclusion of the World Series. Do not expect Buscher to remain with the Twins.

I'm not totally surprised.
I’m not sure where he could latch on that would be a better position for him than the one he’d be in here, although I’m sure he won’t have a problem signing on somewhere.
Depending on how long he stays on the market and what the Twins end up doing at third base, he could be back. But I’d give it less than a 20% chance.
What does this gain us at this point?
Are we right up against the 40-man, to the point where we have to drop Buscher to sign a free agent? I think we can find better options, just wondering why the move was made so quickly.
I'd put money down on freeing up a spot for a possible early waver wire pick up.
"I couldn't do that. Could you do that? Why can they do it? Who are those guys?"
The timing is curious
They don’t need to open room on the 40-man until the GM meetings, a couple of weeks after the Series.

Roster spots
When do players declare free agency? When that happens, the Twins immediately go down to 2 open places, even after adding Boof and Neshek abck into the mix.
Granted, Buscher is a given.
Good luck to Brian. He might stay with the Twins considering they did give him a break…but other organizations could still offer him the same, an AAAA job with potential call-up in times of deep trouble.
