And NOW THE OFFSEASON BEGINS!
I anxiously wait to see who each team jettisons, or which players declare free agency.
I can't wait to see the list of minor league free agents. Anyone from the Twins Rochester roster returning?
The talk can begin about trades and such, but somewhat stilled as teams wait to see who will gain arbitration or free agency, too...which is round #2 of the free agent madness.
Contracts, who wins and who losses.
Plus, it is Awards time? Joe Mauer MVP? Who gets the gold gloves.
It's not too early to plan for spring training and 2010, baseball as it should be played in Minnesota, outdoors amongst the snow, rain and smoke from the garbage garage!

ESPN RUMOR CENTRAL is reporting that the Twins are interested in Hardy
So it looks like as though we’ve already contacted Milwaukee about Hardy’s 2010 services…..
Deolis Guerra = Daniel Cabrera ?
I tend to think so

But Shooter
Walters already wrote that the Twins were interested in Hardy. That means they will not get Hardy because when Shooter reports a rumor, he is never right.

Not true
He’s only right about half the time, meaning, he’s about as accurate as a coin toss.

That's so unfortunate.
I still can’t say bad things about Punto, if that helps any.

SP?
Dodgers Decline Jon Garland’s 2010 Option
Garland “made 32+ starts for the eighth straight year, putting up a 4.01 ERA, his lowest since 2005. FanGraphs valued his 2009 performance at $10.6MM, but it’s hard to see Garland getting eight figures annually on the open market.”
I dunno, is Garland a better gamble than Pavano?

He's kinda like a poor man's version of Nick Blackburn
Plus he’s older and more expensive. I don’t see much reason to sign him.

Garland would be no more than a #5 starter for us

Also according to mlbtraderumors.com Cuddyer!
•The decision on Michael Cuddyer’s $10.5MM option for 2011 is due by Monday, according to Joe Christensen of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Cuddyer would like to finish his career in Minnesota.
No one has discussed this, but is it possible to re-sign Cuddyer for a little longer, but at less/year to gain some room right now? Admittedly, I am not sure Cuddyer is worthy of a longer contract, but…

I just was going to post something about this!
I hope the Twins do re-sign Cuddy. He was a major piece in the Twins making the playoffs this year, and he’s got a great presence in the clubhouse.
I just wonder what kind of contract he’s looking at. If he really wants to retire as a Twin, I’m assuming he’ll take a little less for an extension.
Also, Christensen’s article talks about Perkins and his grievance filing. It will be interesting to see how that goes for him.
