What was your favorite Orlando Cabrera moment?
If I'm reading Doogie's tweet correctly, Bill Smith spoke w/O-Cab this AM and they're moving on. Given the trade, this shouldn't surprise.

Homer in Game 163
to put the Twins up 5-3 in the late innings (of a regular 9 inning game). Also, his two line drive double plays – Game 163 and vs. the Yankees in the playoffs.

Game 163 homerun.
No doubt. That was a turning point in the game, and the excitement from O-Cab himself as well as the dugout was awesome.
He had a few interviews that made me laugh, too. He really seems like a good guy, I’m sad to see him go (as a person, as a player…eh).
That’s the thing. By all accounts, as with Redmond, he was the kind of guy everyone wants in the clubhouse. Also by all accounts, as with Redmond, the skill set just wasn’t what it once was.
Also, that game 163 home run was the bee’s effing knees.

I know he’s not a great player anymore, but I enjoyed having him on the team those last few months. I think the good definetely outweighed the bad in his time with the Twins.
Agreed

Game 163
Had a lot of great O-Cab moments. I personally loved the shove-pump-each-other-up thing that him and Nathan did on the way back to the dugout.
I can't remember the game...
…but the time he scored from first on a poorly-played bloop single in left, because he watched the fielder, knew before the fielder did that the read on the ball was bad, and that it was going to be misplayed and he could score.
Cabrera played smart, and I loved that.

oh man
this makes me want to watch game 163 again.
Cool!
Great game, mostly because we won.

Definitely game 163.
I loved his energy, and I loved the face that when you saw him on the field or you saw him on the television screen, you could tell he wanted to win. There was no other way to interpret him. I’ll miss that.
If this was the O-Cab of a few years ago this would be a much harder decision to face, if only because of that energy and that desire. But I would still want him to bat 8th or 9th…
I think it's a testament to what kind of player he is
that this is getting these kinds of responses. He was only here a few months, but he brought a TON of enthusiasm and energy to the team.
Twins got their money's worth
for O-Cab. Without him, they don’t make the post season. Thank you very much, Orlando and good luck in the future.

you don't
move a premier defensive SS to 3B to accommodate a subpar defensive SS.
Unless you’re the Yankees.
Ha!
Jabs at the Yanks are always appreciated.

seriously though
that would be among the stupidest things that we could do. It would be better to move Cabrera to 2nd.
Where's the favorite Brian Buscher moment thread?

There actually could be a GoGo thread...
Have you seen the picture of him dancing on a table with a bottle of champagne in each hand after this year’s 163? Fantastic. His interviews, too, always made me laugh. “I see the ball, I hit the ball”. :D
there should be a GoGo thread
it would be hilarious

I like that one
I stole it for the title of the Gomez thread

ah, were there any?
I was a Buscher supporter/hoper, and I don’t remember many moments.

My favorite moment,
was the time he rescued a busload of children from a bus that fell into the river when the bridge collapsed on his way to the park, hit three singles in a victory, and then restored Madonna’s virginity on his way home after the game.
Oh, wait that was Mauer wasn’t it.
Yeah, that was Baby J
Although there was that one time that O-Cab helped an old lady cross the street, then saved a cat that was stuck in a tree.

It's not his fault

favorite moment......
When he realized that the Twins might actually win and started playing pro-ball like most players should, rather than just playing baseball and thinking about 2010.
He started to show competitive spark and energy during that final 25-game run.
Was a joy to watch.
Second favorite moment—reading yesterday’s news and realizing the Twins got Hardy for possibly less than they would have to pay Orlando!
