Around SBN: Diego Sanchez and the Dangers of Fame in MMA

award-winning indepedent baseball documentary released

Greetings,

My dad (who has Parkinson's Disease) and I went on a 20,000 mile road trip to all 30 MLB parks over two months in the summer of '04. The journey the ensuing award-winning documentary, "Boys of Summer", has been on has felt much longer.  However, it is finally getting a limited release.

100% of the proceeds from this sale of the film are going to the Michael J Fox Foundation. For those of you who aren't familiar with the film, please take a look at the site: http://www.bosmovie.com. You'll find all the info, letters of recommendation, news articles a trailer and how to order it there.

Please feel free to email me with any questions via the website.

My best to you,

Robert Cochrane (a.k.a. princemilo) Director, Writer, Producer "Boys of Summer"

I don’t know, he might not reply, I saw he posted on all the other team sites as well. I watched the trailer, seems interesting. Couldn’t figure out much regarding the quality of the film. It has one some awards, couldn’t figure out which. I didn’t devote much time to it.

hey all

Thanks for the replies. Our favorite? Well, it sounds cliche, but Fenway really was amazing. Also, the way the Red Sox treated us was incredible — first class all the way. Lots of other great parks and stories (including a one about an amazing couple who invited us to their lake home just outside of Minneapolis) — but I’ll leave that for the film.

I have tried to post to the other sites, yes, because we went to all 30 MLB parks. I would think fans in every city would have built-in interest in the story. This is a completely grassroots effort and I’m trying as hard as I can to reach as many fans as I can with no money and very limited time to dedicate to this (full time work plus a newborn at home who’s yelling at me right now!).

You mentioned the awards — they are listed on the site, but I’ll put them here, too:

*Best documentary — Riverside Film Festival, 2006
*Closing night selection — Phoenix Film Festival, 2006
*Opening night selection — Mumbai Sports Film and TV festival, 2006

My best to you,

Robert
