Twinkie Town 2010 Top 50...Runoff vote for Prospect Numbers 10 & 11!

There were 95 votes cast for Prospect Number 10.  Deolis Guerra led with 22 votes (23%), with Chris Parmelee second with 19 votes (20%).  Adrian Salcedo was a close third with 14 votes (14%).  Because there were only 3 votes (3%) separating the top two, and this vote was for the last spot in our "mythical top ten," it is important that we all have a chance to decide for the tenth spot in a head to head runoff between Guerra and Parmelee.

The winner of this round will be Prospect Number 10 with the loser Prospect 11.

This was also the first round in which we had no one with less than 6% of the vote, thus, everyone will return for round 12.  Please include in the comments section your recommendations for the two who will be added to the voting for round 12 on Monday.

I just don’t see the hype right now for Deolis. He spent 2 1/2 years in the same league and didn’t seem to show that much imporvement statiscally. Granted I don’t see what the coaches are working on with him, but the numbers have to improve sometime. Parmalee has already proven some fairly strong results. The vote was easy for me.

I understand that, but you have to also show some good numbers too. With the age + level= hype, you could technically put anybody at 20 years old at AA and call them a top prospect.

I just feel Guerra has to start performing much better than consistantly having ERAs in the 4-5s, regardless of age. But like I said, I don’t know what the coaches are doing with him since I’m only looking at numbers and not games or practices, so who knows.

I like Guerra more than Salcedo...

… But, Parmalee is a king

same with the Twins

I think it is much more fitting to have Parmelee 10th and Guerra 11th….

Any factual evidence at all towards this rumor?

Carlos Carrasco, Alex White along with Tanner Scheppers to the Twins
Glen Perkins and Beau Mills to the Rangers
Francisco Liriano and the rights to Boof Bonser + a PTBL to the Indians

(will Smoak and Feliz go to Fla. for Josh Johnson?)

I want another pitcher in the top ten

Would’ve preferred Salcedo. I like Parmalee, but I like Benson better based on upside.

I'm with you

Pamelee has to few tools to be rated this high, imho. The tool he has is a major plus (power). But otherwise, he projects as a slow DH.

Guerra and Benson

Two guys who could’ve been voted top 5 at some point, but fell out of favor because they are lost in that nether region of figuring oneself out at age 19-20, but just might return to favor if they pull it together. Parmalee too, for that matter, but even if he does, I doubt if he can will himself to be any faster, or to play much better defense..

I hope we can roll with the growing pains of our 16 year old top prospect. (I’m a new parent; my son is only 8 months old, but I cringe to think a bunch of bloggers could be debating his ‘potential’ when he is only 16 [or 18] years old.
