It's official: Red Dog won't be back
Few are surprised. But it is sad to see such a great guy and a great leader move on. Hopefully, he finds another major league job. If not, he'll make a great coach or manager somewhere.

Bittersweet.
Happy trails to NBP. He was a joy to have; it’s a shame that it only makes sense to move on now. Maybe he and Matty LaCroy will coach together one day :)

He should go to the Sox
and take that bum, Pierzynski’s, job. Yeah, who would wanna play for the Sox? And, yeah, Pierzynski might be a little, tiny bit better than Red Dog, but tell me that wouldn’t be funny.
(ok, you caught me. My post is loaded with homerism)
homerism

my floor is looking pretty dirty... BETTER GET OUT THE BROOM!!!
Good luck Red Dog!
Too bad he couldn’t stay with the Twins as a coach somewhere. No more NBP.

Happy Trails Mike Redmond.
You were a very good backup most of the time you were here, but the last couple years were pretty much replacement level, and that’s not including defense. I’m glad to see the front office is going to go with Morales / Butera (probably Morales) as the backup. Hopefully Redmond can catch on with another team or with the Twins as a minor league coach.
He was replacement level + leadership
Not terrible for someone getting only a handful of innings behind the best player on the planet.

True
leadership was valuable. But the way his bat had fallen off, it was time.

It was time...
but still. :(
Glad we had the time with him that we did.

Not just his bat
His arm went dead at the end of spring training and never came back. Also, he never had quick reactions, but they were especially slow last year. Still and all, he was a great fit here.
