Marte
Marte was cut by the Indians. Remember when he was a top Braves prospect and the Twins were salivating over him as a potential third-baseman of the future?
What happened to Marte? Anyone know?
Sadly, if the Twins claimed him, they would basically have to swap out Macri and if the Twins couldn't keep him, he would go thru waivers again. So, he would be a bubble guy who would have to out-play Harris or Buscher to significantly have a chance with the Twins...who would then have to cut a Buscher or Harris to make room for him on the 25-man.

Marte makes Delmon look like a breakout star
But his minor league numbers were pretty rediculous. Maybe this year is the year he figures it out and we get a cheaper version of Beltre. But probably not.

Hmmm...
Andy Marte’s minor league career line: .347/.476/.823
Brendan Harris’ minor league career line: .365/.458/.823
So I can think of someone else whose minor league numbers were “pretty ridiculous”. And who has actually been able to hit in the majors too. And who is already a Twin.

Marte's career line is misleading
He had a great early career, but the curve went down as he progressed. His AAA numbers were just above average. His first AAA year was very good, as a 21 year old. But he had an undisclosed shoulder injury. The Braves didn’t disclose it because they wanted to trade him. The Red Sox were interested in the same thing, dumping him while his value was at an ebb. But he never seemed to recover. And his AAA and major league numbers since indicate a AAAA player.
