Gardenhire reflects on Torii Hunter
According to MLB.com Gardenhire is waxing philosophic about Torii Hunter and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, as the West Coast club gets ready to take on our home team this weekend.
While Gardenhire has stated he has text messaged Torii a couple of times about the Angel's recent loss of Nick Adenhart, Torii has had some messages of his own to his old organization, his ex-temmates and to his former fans in Minnesota:
You all disrespected my talents and decided I wasn't worth the money, so you let me go, thinking you could easily replace me. Well let me tell you Minnesota, the last laugh is on you as I'm sporting a .382 OBP and a .724 SLG percentage with three home runs and three doubles already this season to go along with my still stellar defense. What have you got? You had to replace me with two people. You tried to replace my defense with a speedy and unproven youngster and you tried to replace my bat with a big Young leftfielder who can't play defense. Unfortunately for you, both of those two players don't add up to one Torii Hunter, and both of them take bigger hacks at the plate than my 84 year old blind gramma does when golfing from her wheelchair at Pebble Beach. You miss me Minnesota, you miss me...

You left out something about Torii being a clubhouse leader.

Shut up Torii
For the 1000th time. Apparently, he has an inferiority complex or something. He feels a need to talk trash because he doesn’t believe in himself. Well Torii, you’re good enough, your smart enough and dongone it, people like you. Now will you please just leave us alone.

I guess I missed that
It was something I can see Torii doing.

sorry,
I wanted it to start out sounding like an actual quote from Torii, then I was hoping that last sentence about his gramma would be a dead giveaway that I was making it up.
But yeah, that last part about “you miss me Minnesota” …you KNOW that Torii believes that.

football
He also forgot to discuss how good of a football player he was, or the influence he has had in convincing black kids to take up baseball again.
He’s a real ambassador for the sport.
